Hi guys! I'm so so so sorry it has been so long. It has been a really difficult time with this pandemic... These last few months have been a struggle for me and my family but I hope all of you lovely people are staying safe and doing well! ^^

"Yes."

I could hear my heart pounding in my chest after I told the girl before me the truth about the hidden feelings I had towards Kaname. The feelings I desperately tried to bury and forget. And admitting this out loud felt as if a seal within me beginning to break.

'Will she be angry?'

'Why did she ask me this?'

'Why now of all times?'

Millions of questions raced through my mind as I didn't know what to expect, but I bit my lip and tried to remain calm in front of her. I wanted to be truthful.

Yuki smiled weakly again and let out a soft sigh. "I see."

"Yuki, I-"

"I'm not upset. I just needed to know..." She said as a mix of guilt and relief became visible in her expression.

"...I'm sorry." I crossed my arms as the guilt washed over me.

"Don't be. To be honest... When I first saw you two together a year ago, I always had a feeling deep down." She leaned against the wall and averted her gaze from mine. "And I chose to ignore it... Thinking it was nothing but an assumption... Forgive me."

"Yuki..." I whispered, carefully watching the Pureblood smile softly with guilt before I cautiously gathered my courage to utter gentle words, suddenly remembering her and Zero were together not too long ago, which a scent of his blood clung to her. Her skin had more color than before. "If you don't mind me asking... What about you?"

Yuki sat in thought for a moment before she could respond to my question.

"Of course, I still care for him... But, I think we both knew that our love wasn't making us truly smile from the heart. You know... I told him my heart was still connected to Zero." My hazel eyes widened, confirming her suspicions. "And... deep down I think his heart was elsewhere... Maybe this is why he's doing all this? Maybe his heart is filled with confusion?" Yuki asked, wanting answers but wouldn't get them unless she asked the man himself.

'His heart was somewhere else?'

"S-Sorry! That was a lot of personal stuff I just said..." Yuki awkwardly smiled as she pushed herself off the wall.

I let out a gentle sigh before I grabbed Yuki's soft hands with gentleness and smiled with reassurance. "It's okay... I'm happy you felt comfortable with confiding in me. Let's keep working hard to put this to an end so that we can get the answers we're looking for."

Yuki's gaze turns to surprise look but quickly showed relief as she gave my hand a squeeze in reassurance.

"You're right... Thank you, Emi."

-----------------The Next Night--------------------

As the sun was finally setting, classes for the vampires were about to begin. I quietly followed Shiki and Rima up the stairs in the quiet school building after we had spoken to Aido, who has headed to town to find information in Yuki's place.

"We're late..." Rima sighed with annoyance.

"All because Aido wouldn't stop haranguing us..." Shiki added.
