Chapter 10:

"I am the chosen one? For what" I ask.

Riiiiiiiiing!!!  Goes the alarm for lunch over.

"I will tell you later dear. Right now you've gotta get to class. Bye!" She says.

"No...wait!" I say but its too late. She's already vanished. Dammit.

I sigh and look at my necklace curiously. The red button is still there.

I raise my head and walk out of the washroom.

"Hey Amber! I have been looking for you everywhere" comes a voice I know all too well.

It is Adriana!!!

I turn around to see her running towards me. She pants uncontrollably as she draws near.

"Where have you been Miss?" She asks with a fake frown on her face.

I look at her. Her eyes are now a bright grey, her face is no longer sullen and she looks cheerful again.

I couldn't help but to hug her. She was caught off guard.

"What is the hug for" she asks but I don't reply. Instead, I hold her hands and we walk to our next class.

Our next class was amazing. Adriana was contributing a lot and I answered most of the questions correctly.

Eva looked at us curiously anytime we winked at each other .

She was sitting beside Ethan now.

After 1hour, the alarm finally goes for closing.

Everyone packs their things. Adriana and I take the same elevator to the grand hall.

We wait downstairs for our parents and drivers to arrive.

Eva's driver arrived first. She plants a kiss on Ethan's lips and  says goodbye to him.

Adri's driver arrived next. She said goodbye to me and left. Later, Jordan's driver arrived to pick him up followed by Josh's parents.

One by one, everyone was leaving except Ethan and I. We were the only ones left now with my eleven year old brother, Kevin.

Kevin walks up to Ethan.

"Hi" he says confidently.
Ethan looks up at him. "Hi" he says surprised. He was probably wondering why someone like him was still around.

"What are you still doing here?" Ethan asks.

"Waiting for my mum" Kevin says innocently.

"Oh I see. You alone?" Ethan asks again curiously.

"No, with my big sister" he says.

"Where is she?" Ethan asks.

"Over there" Kevin says pointing at me.

"She's your sister? I never knew she had a handsome little brother like you" Ethan says.

Kevin smiles sweetly.

"Do you like basketball?" Ethan asks.

"Yep! Its my favorite sport" Kevin answers excitedly.

Ethan laughs at his response.

"Do you know how to play?" Ethan asks.

Kevin looks sad. "No" he says.

Ethan looks at his sad face with pity.

"Don't worry. I will show you how to play" Ethan says.

"Really?" Kevin asks surprised.

"Yes" Ethan says.

"Yaay!!" Kevin shouts excitedly.

"What's your  name?" Ethan asks.

"Kevin Conic" he says. "Well I am Ethan Shipman" says Ethan.

Two cars enter the compound and park. One is a blue range rover and the other a white Hyundai elantra .

Mom is in. Ethan gets up and so do I.

"Goodbye Kevin. See you tomorrow. Bye Amber" Ethan says walking towards the blue Range Rover.

"Bye" Kevin and I say walking towards the Hyundai elantra.

We enter and mom drives out first followed by Ethan's driver.
