Chapter 43:

I woke up to see the sky clear and the weather bright as always. I heard my door creak and turned to see my dad at the doorway. He was wearing a white shirt over brown shorts. His blond hair wasn't combed.

"Good morning pumpkin" he said with a grin.
"Morning dad" I answered.
"How was your night?" He asked.
"The best night I have never had in my entire life" I said sincerely. Dad chuckled.
"Today, I am taking you, your mom and Kevin out somewhere since you wouldn't be going to school today " he said
"Where dad?" I asked.
"You will know when we get there! But I advise you take your swim suit! " Dad replied.
"Alright dad! Which time will we be going so that I can prepare?"
"At 12:00pm dear! " he replied. Then he hugged me and left my room.
I checked the time. It was 9:00am. Wow! I've been sleeping so long!
I rubbed my tired eyes and walked to the bathroom. I took a shower and then dressed up in a purple blouse with white shorts and purple sneakers.
I tied my hair in a pony tail then I took my phone. There was a message. I looked at the source. It was from Ethan. It read;

Ethan@8:58pm:
Good morning beautiful!!! I miss you already!! Am not joking!!!See you tonight! Look great!!! I will be picking you up !
Your boyfriend.....

I smiled. He was so sweet. I texted him back.
My text@ 9:24am:
Good morning handsome! I just woke up to see your message. I admit I miss you too! I will see you tonight and don't worry I will try to look my best!
Your Girlfriend.....

I slid my phone into the back pocket of my shorts and went downstairs. I saw mom, dad and Kevin sitting at the dining hall eating some spring rolls and laughing.

I was so happy my family was back again.
I went to sit down and picked a roll. I started munching on it when the doorbell rang.
"Are you expecting someone?" Mom asked dad.
"No" Dad answered. "Kids?" He asked us.
"No" I answered.
"Well I am expecting someone! Larry and Rex will be coming here at 10:00am" Kevin said.

I went to open the door. A man holding a bouquet of roses was standing at the doorway.
"Are you Miss Amber Conic?" He asked.
"Yes" I answered.
"These are for you" he says handing me the bouquet. "Please sign here." He added and I signed at where he pointed.
"Thank you" he said and left.
I slammed the door and turned around with the bouquet of red roses in my hand.
"Who sent them?" Mom asked awed by how big the bouquet was.
"I don't know" I answered.
"They are so beautiful" Mom gushed. "Check if there's a card!!!" She added.

I searched then I found a pink card. I opened it to see a message and it goes like this;

Queen of my heart! I hope you like the little surprise I gave you! You are so amazing!
I just wanted to show you how much I love you!!! Its your boyfriend........ Ethan💞💘

"Who is it from?" Mom asked anxiously.
"Its from Ethan"
Mom gasps and covers her mouth with her hands.
"Lemme see" she says taking the card from me. After reading the message on the card, she put a hand on her chest.

"That was so sweet" she said. I nodded in agreement.
"Pumpkin, is he your boyfriend now?" Mom asked.
I exhaled heavily and said yes.
Mom and I squealed.
"What happened with Eva?"
"He broke up with her"
"Oh that's painful"
"Yeah , I know right"

"Can someone explain what is going on?" Dad said sternly.
Kevin too had a curious expression on his face.
"Did you guys win the lottery or something?" Kevin asked.
"No Kevin! Its just girl stuff" Mom said.
"Girl stuff huh? Who sent the red roses?" Dad asked.
Mom cleared her throat noisily to signal me to tell dad.
"My boyfriend" I said cheerfully.
"And who is your boyfriend?" Dad asked.
"Was it from Ethan?" Kevin asked.
"Yes Kevin" I replied.
"I was right!" Kevin said proudly.
"Who is Ethan?" Dad asked confused.
"Dad...... Ethan is a good boy! He's also super rich. His family owns a popular and highly regarded business known as Shipman Group of companies" I explained.
