Its Eva! I'm positive it is her. What is she doing here?
She walks to the front door of the building and a guard opens it.
She enters confidently.
I look at Bevy. She was also looking at Eva.
"Who is she Bevy?" I asked curiously.
"Dr Loin's daughter" Bevy says.
"We were so lucky she didn't spot us" Bevy adds."Do you know her name?" I ask again.
"No. I don't really know her" Bevy said.
"Let's get going then. We must be as silent as possible" Mr Soler says.
Bevy and I nod and we begin our journey. Its like an underground tunnel we were passing through.
The walls are made of bricks with some drawings on them.
We have been walking for twenty minutes now and we haven't arrived at the prison.
Mr Soler is leading us with a torchlight.
We enter a large room with many cells.
Some of the cells were empty but some had people in them.
I looked around anxiously for my dad but I couldn't see him anywhere.
Mr Soler and Bevy wave me over to one of the cells.
I run to their side to see my dad lying on a bed asleep.
His shirt is dirty, his blond hair is dishevelled and he looks pale.
"Dad" I call.
Silence...........................
I call again but there is no response.
"What is wrong with him?" I ask worried.
"He is in a deep sleep dear" Mr Soler replies.
"Why is he in a deep sleep?" I ask.
"He fell sick yesterday and the doctor said he should rest and so we gave him a pill that will make him sleep for three days. This is his second day and so you cannot talk to him" Mr Soler said clearly.
I felt sad. My dad fell sick. I couldn't get to talk to him. Am sure he misses us.
I stay with him for sometime looking at his sullen face. Anger filled me.
My dad doesn't deserve this!
"Time to go!" Mr Soler announces.
Oh no! Not so soon. I want to stay for a while.
I get up reluctantly and go to Bevy. We get out through the underground tunnels again and we appear in front of the cottage again.
"Thank you Mr Soler" Bevy says cheerfully.
"Welcome Beverley" Soler answers. He waves us and enters his house.
Bevy opens a portal and we jump into it.
We are back home now. Bevy is sitting on my bed and I am standing.
It is 6:00am in the morning and I have to prepare for school.
"Now you believe me?" Bevy says unexpectedly.
"Yeah. You have to go Bevy. Its time for me to go to school" I say.
"Alright. You know how to call me when you need me" Bevy says.
I don't respond. I am thinking so much about what I had just seen.
I turn. Bevy is gone. I didn't even notice.
I need to prepare for school!
I rush into the bathroom. After a long shower, I wear a blue polo shirt over black jeans and a pair of converse sneakers.
I take my bag and go downstairs.
Mom is preparing breakfast and Kevin is already seated.
I say a cheerful good morning and sit by Kevin.
"Looks like someone's happy today. Can you tell us what made you so happy?" Mom asks.
Its true. When Bevy told me that dad was alive and showed me the evidence, my heart was filled with joy.
But a I can't tell mom and Kevin about it. I want it to be a surprise.
"Let's just say I had a great night" I say happily.
Mom and Kevin look at me with curious faces.
"Was it a sweet dream?" Mom asks.
Its more than a sweet dream mom but I can't tell you now
"Yes but its so long and I can't tell you everything this morning." I say.
"Okay dear but bear in mind that when you are happy, I am also happy" mom says sweetly.
"Alright mom"
At exactly 6:40, we were done with our breakfast.
Mom drove us to school.
