Chapter 26:

He then entered the road and we sped off. I was annoyed during the whole journey hearing mom laugh at his silly jokes which weren't funny to me.

This continued for a long time and I wanted to get out of the car immediately but unfortunately we got stuck in a stupid traffic jam!!!
Mom and Mr Gumfield continued to talk and the thought of the two of them getting married made me gag. I think Mr Gumfield is a good man and if dad was really dead, I would have allowed him to take my mom but unfortunately for him, my dad is still alive and so he can't take her! I need to do something about this!

"I like your kids so much. They are very polite" Mr Gumfield spat
Mom chuckles "Yes they are! " she answered proudly.
They continue their conversation and I think of numerous ways to separate them.

Finally, we arrived at the school. The basketball players were training their last and the cheer leaders team were also there to support them.
I spotted a bus nearby with Red hood high written in block red letters on it with fire at the background.
The red hood players had already arrived.

"Pumpkin, you can get down and go. Mr Gumfield, Kevin and I will join you shortly." Mom said clearly.
"Okay mom" I simply said.
"Good luck kid" Mr Gumfield spat
"Yes sir" I reply and leave.

I make it to practice already changed into my cheer leaders outfit.
"You are always late Amber! Why?" Eva asks harshly. "We have a basketball game in less than thirty minutes and you are coming in at this time?" She adds

"Am sorry am late Eva but its not my fault. I got stuck in a traffic jam" I elaborate calmly.
"Whatever! Just get in there and do everything right! Now Go!!!" She shouts.
I go and train with the other girls with Eva leading the dance.

We were still training when coach Finley came to inform us that the game is about to begin.
I became nervous all of a sudden but Eva was confident as always.

"Its 11:59am! One minute more and we will be on the floor" Eva announced. "Make sure you don't disgrace me over there especially you Miss Conic who has never been a cheerleader before" she added harshly.
All the girls turned to look at me shyly.
I swallowed hard and smirked.
"Don't worry Princess! I won't spoil your party" I taunted.
She looked at me amused by my reply.
"Alright" she said sharply and turned around. She checks her watch "okay its time! Let's go!"

Eva leads the way and we enter the basketball court. Lots of people were seated. We began our dance and the people cheered happily

Then the players entered. The red hood players had frowns on their faces and the Chevester  players too had frowns as well. I spotted Chris with them and I was surprised. Soon, all cheerleaders left leaving the two teams to play their game.

Summarization of the game:

After the first half, the red hood players led with 14 points and the Chevester players had 12points only with Ethan, Jordan and Chris scoring them for us.

The Chevester fans are devastated right now and are praying that the red hood players won't go home with the trophy but the red hood fans are so delighted and are singing songs in support of their team

I am sure Ethan is devastated right now and is thinking of ways to beat them

Second half starts:
I will say that the second half is very competitive. The red hood players were going to score another two points but luckily they lost the ball to Josh who passes it to Jordan and he dribbles it and gives it to Ethan

Ethan who is closer to the hoop wastes no time and puts the ball inside!!! Yes! We have a draw.
The scoreline:
Red hood:14
Chevester: 14

Oh no! Another red hood player has got the ball and is going straight for the hoop. He is successful as the ball enters the hoop and they earn extra two points making it 16 and Chevester still 14! Damn!!!
