Chapter 47:

Then the doorbell rang. Ethan's girlfriend was in.

My heart skipped a beat. She was here! Ethan came out of the room with a frown on his face. I couldn't read his dads expression.

"Am sick of the two of you meddling in my life! I didn't tell you to get me a girlfriend?" Ethan spat angrily.

"Calm down son! She's the best for you!" Mrs Shipman convinced.

Ethan scoffed and sat in his chair angrily. I was still in shock. I couldn't believe that Ethan's new girlfriend will be joining us soon.

"Good evening" a female  voice says.
We all turn to see two older people who will be around Ethan's parents age and a girl like me in a pink mermaid gown with brown hair which reached her shoulders and dark eyes. She was beautiful to admit.

Mr and Mrs Shipman stood up and welcomed the family. Then they sat down.
I felt odd at the table so I decided to leave.
"I uhh......will be going. Thank you Mr and Mrs Shipman. Enjoy your dinner. You're welcome guests" I said sheepishly.

Mrs Shipman smiled and said
"No don't go! Stay for dinner at least"
"Its okay Mrs Shipman!"

"Please have dinner with us" she insisted.
I sighed deeply and sat down reluctantly.

Mrs Shipman smiled and said thank you. Then the servants served us with some burgers,  sausages and cheesecakes.

I tried my best to eat like a lady but I must say that Ethan's new girlfriend was better than me.

"Ethan , meet Gisella" Mrs Shipman said. Ethan raised his blue eyes and looked at her. Then he smiled and said hello. Then she responded.

I felt a pang of jealousy in me but I tried to behave well.
"Gisella meet Amber, Ethan's friend"
Mrs Shipman said surprisingly pointing to me. She says hello to me and I respond. She called me Ethan's friend?

"Thanks for inviting us to this family dinner." Gisella's mom spat.

"Its our pleasure"

Then they started talking about Ethan and Gisella's marriage and their life together and the children they will have together.

I lost my appetite.
"Its going to be the best wedding ceremony in the whole wide world" Mrs Shipman announced

"And the most expensive" Gisella's mom answered.
"I promise am going to make this wedding ceremony a memorable one" Mr Shipman spat.
"Yes" Gisella's dad spoke up.

"And am sure you're going to invite all your friends son right?" Mrs Shipman asked with a smile on her face.

"Yes......mom" Ethan replied reluctantly.
"That's my boy! " she said happily.
"I hope you will attend the wedding dear cos if you don't, you will be missing a lot" Mrs Shipman said to me.

"Don't worry Mrs Shipman! I will attend the wedding. After all, Ethan's my friend and I have to" I said a bit pissed off but they didn't notice cos I said it sweetly.

Ethan noticed it and winked at me to warn me to be careful with my language. But his mom was taunting me.

"Gisella, you are going to look so beautiful in your wedding gown. Its going to be the most expensive wedding gown on this earth trust me!" Mrs Shipman spat.

This woman was really getting on my nerves! Was she supposed to be my mother in law? I  just wish this dinner should end now so that I can go home and sulk in my bed.

Thankfully, a fairy answered mg wish. The parents made Gisella and Ethan talk and they grouped talking about business and other stuff.

I was alone and I felt rejected. Looking at Ethan and Gisella together made my eyes flood with tears. Ethan wasn't happy. He looked at me with sorrow in his eyes. Gisella on the other hand was so happy and was always taking his attention of me.
