Chapter 24:

"Sure" he finally says and waves me to follow him.

I roll my eyes and walk after him. We entered the elevator and he pressed a button.
After sometime, the elevator opened and we walked out to the reception.

"Going home boss?" The receptionist asks .
"Yes but if there's any emergency call me" Ethan says in a stern voice.

"Yes Sir" the receptionist answers and goes back to working.
"Thank you for helping me see him" I say to her.
"Its my pleasure ma'am" she says politely.

I smile at her and go after Ethan who was out of the door already. I soon catch up with him.

We walk to a black Ferrari parked in the garage of the building. He opens the front door of the car for me to sit.

I sit inside and he shuts the door.
He sits at the drivers seat and he sparks the car. The car roared to life. Then he steps on the accelerator and with a flash we were down the road at full speed.

My heart is beating so fast. We were going at top speed and I was afraid we might have an accident but it looks like he's a good driver though.

I wanted to tell him to slow down but I didn't want him to call me a scardy cat. I decided to taunt him.

"Is that how you drive? I am not impressed with you Ethan! You are so slow" I try to say in a disappointed tone.

He laughs slightly and says
"You want me to go faster than this?"
"Yeah." I say.
I could see a smirk on his face and before I knew it, he was going much more faster than before.

What have I done? I have worsened the situation but am not gonna admit it! Never! He on the other hand is comfortable with the speed he was going.

I checked my watch. Its 5: 49 am.
"Good going Shipman! We used only four minutes to get here" I say impressed.

He smiles at me then goes back at focusing on the road.
"So.......how do you balance your CEO job with school?" I ask him.

"During the day, am in school and in the night, I go to Hero land to find out what is going on and train as well" he replies.

"What about you?" He adds.
"I do the same as yours." I say to him.
His eyes are still fixated on the road with some seriousness.

"You know, I wish I could just punch that Dr Loin in the face when I get him" he says angrily.

I chuckle at his outburst but he's right. I also wish the same thing sometimes.

"Yeah" I say agreeing to what he said. "Do you know something about him?" I add.

"All I know is that he's a coward. I just wanna get rid of him for good"

I have never heard him speak that way before.
"Am glad we are partners now. There is no way he's going to escape this time around" I say hopefully.

"I hope! He's a coward but he's very smart and intelligent. So its difficult to know his plans but he can figure out our plans easily" Ethan replies deadpanned.

"He can figure out our plans? How?" I ask shocked.
"I don't know but he can. I think he has spies or something" Ethan says. "So this time, we are being careful with the people we are working with and I suggest you do same since we will be partners" he adds .

"Yeah, you are right Ethan" I say very seriously.
The car is silent now. Soon we got to my house and I got down from the car. "Thanks. It was a great ride. I am impressed with your driving skills." I said to him.

Ethan smiles at me. "Its a pleasure Amber"
I smile back and shut the car door. I then make my way towards the house. Its 5:55am. Thank God! Mom and Kevin won't be awake yet.
