The Victory Tours were horrible.

I wish I could say the Victory Tour flew by fast. Just like I wish the saddened faces from the two families from every district did not lose a child. But every district we arrived at, it was always the same, I would read the lines of my script then I would smile and wave next to Finnick, who seemed to be a good distraction for the crowds and after that, I would return to my train car to be dressed for the next ceremony.

Mosa had made hundreds of outfits for each ceremony, every single one more breathtaking than the next. I knew he was trying to do the same thing I was, convince Panem that I am not starting a rebellion against the Capitol.

Although it was not working, every time the districts began chanting my name, it was full of dark promises of vengeance. I could see it with the smiles on their faces and the fury in their eyes, they were ready. The worst part was, they were all looking at me to lead. And I didn't know how. Or even if I was strong enough to rebel against the Capitol.

We were at the last district before we went to the Capitol. It was Wick's home, District Seven.

I looked down at my plaid skirt which matched with the yellow sweater I was wearing. Mosa had definitely tried to dress me in something more my style for this ceremony, knowing that I would be worried enough standing on the stage that Wick stood on before he was carted away to his death.

I smile as I look at my battered brown lace-up boots, which had become a staple for me after the games. It was just like the pair I had on during the games.

I know it is weird to find solace in the shoes I wore while I was in the Games, but they were the only thing that I could look at without the horrible memory of the arena. And that means something. Right?

"I don't know if I can do this, Finnick," I look up from my shoes to glance at the bronze-haired god as we both stood backstage, "I mean Velvet's family was one thing but Wick..."

Finnick's fake smile that he was wearing ever since we arrived dissolved into a frown before he pulled me into his muscular arms, "I know."

I relaxed in his grip, taking in the salty smell of the ocean back home mixed with the clean scent of his cologne. I wish Mags could have joined me but, she was in enough trouble for coming to see me after my games so we decided it would be best if she stayed.

"You can do this, though," I felt Finnick's voice vibrate on my cheek as he speaks, "Remember I will be standing right next to you on the stage."

I sigh, looking up at Finnick. Our bodies were pressed so close that if I moved just a bit closer, there would be nothing separating us. I waited for Finnick to move, but he didn't; instead, he only tightened his grip, planting a light kiss on the top of my head.

My pale eyes meet his green ones, "Promise."

Finnick looked like he was utterly lost at the moment, I didn't know what the emotion was in his eyes, but he was speechless, not flirtatious or seductive like it usually was.
