“Bye mum,” I smiled, waving as she drove away. Never too old to get lifts from your mother. Gab, Kris and I quickly jogged up the steps and rung the doorbell; we were already late. After a few seconds the door swung open to reveal Louis.

“Hey guys!” he smiled, letting me inside.

“Hi, hi, hi!” I quickly said, running inside first and turning to face him. “Sorry Lou, we’ve just been up the wall with school, and then we forgot about coming and-”

“Whoa!” he threw his arm around my shoulder, guiding me towards the living room as Gab and Kris laughed behind us. “Someone’s stressed! Just sit down and breathe,” he laughed, opening the door. Everyone else was there, well, besides Harry. Georgia, Niall, Liam, Megan and Zayn.

“Hi guys,” I breathed, sitting down next to Georgia.

“What’s wrong?” she quickly asked.

“I just...I’m so stressed,” I admitted. “The party is in two days and I have so much to do!” I threw my head in my hands. How could I possibly get everything ready by Saturday?!

“Carly.”

“Carles.”

“Carly!” I shot my head up to see Kristen hovering like a hawk above me, causing me to back as far away as possible into the couch.

“What?” I sighed.

“Listen to this,” she began. “Club? Sorted. Music-” she looked over at the boys sitting on one couch, winking in their direction. She continued. “-sorted. Food?”

“Sorted!” Niall cut in. I smiled slightly at him.

“Have you called Anne?” Louis asked as he sat down.

“Yeah.”

“Then the guest list is sorted too,” he chirped, sitting on the couch armchair next to Gee. “Stop being so stressed Carles, you’ve got nothing left to do!”

“That’s not true. I don’t have an outfit!” I cried. Megan, Georgia, Gab and Kris each stood up, a genuine shocked expression on their faces.

“You don’t have an outfit?” Liam asked from the other couch. “That’s fine! Why don’t you just wear something you already have?”

Five pairs of eyes shot at him within a second, wide with shock.

“What?” he asked innocently.

“Babe, she can’t wear something she already owns!” Gab protested. “No, absolutely not. Come on, we’re going shopping.” She stood up and I raised my eyebrows slightly.

“Gab, we only just got here.”

“Aw, I know, but I need to get something too!” she argued. “You guys want to come?” she addressed everyone.

“Shopping...I think I’ll pass, but thanks!” Liam laughed, and the rest of the boys nodded.

“Okay, so let’s go!” Georgia cried, pulling me up as the other girls stood up. Shopping time!

"So what time will you be there?"

"I'm hoping around eight. I'll text when we're ten minutes away," I answered.

"Alright," Louis laughed slightly. "I can't wait to see his face!"

"Oh my gosh, me neither!" I cried. "See you soon, Lou."

"Bye Carles."

I hung up, checking myself in the mirror. I'd been getting ready for the past two and a half hours. It didn't normally take me that long, though I wanted my make up to look perfect, and with my skills, it certainly took awhile. I was very pleased with the outcome though. My face was dolled in foundation, blusher, a slight shimmer and natural lipstick. My eyes had taken the longest, but I was proud. I had blended natural and charcoal colours together until they looked almost professionally done, then put on eye liner and mascara. Overall, a success!

I was majorly excited for tonight, it was unreal! Everything was ready, the club, guests, food, music...everything. I had my camera in my hard, leather bag which actually matched the fitted collared dress I was wearing.

I brushed my lips with a clear lipgloss over the already natural colour and headed downstairs.

"Oh Carles, you look beautiful," my mum commented, her hands flying to her chest.

"Aw, thanks mum," I laughed. "Are you and Gary going to come?"

"Of course! You know how much I want to meet Harrys family! Gary's due home soon so we'll see you there," she smiled.

"Okay," I said, grabbing my new shoes and stepping into them. Dear lord, they were so steep. I'm ninety percent sure I'll have broken both my ankles by the end of the night. The sound of the doorbell ringing caught my attention and my mum ran over to answer it while I grabbed my bag. I turned around and there he was, looking perfect as usual. He was wearing a white collared shirt with a grey woollen blazer, jeans and stylish suede shoes. Overall, like an angel sent from heaven. I know, cheesy, but you can't put into words how unreal Harry always looks.

I smiled like an idiot and ran over to the door to meet him.

"You kids have fun!" my mum smiled.

"Thanks Maria," Harry grinned, taking my hand pulling me out the door.

"Bye mum," I quietly said, walking out with him.

"You look amazing," he whispered into my ear. Aw hell, I was hoping I wouldn't blush tonight.

"So do you," I replied, smiling up at him. He shook his head and his curls danced, making my heart do the same. My phone suddenly began to ring and I fished it out of my bag, answering it as planned.

“Hello?” I asked. As we had arranged, Gab began to shout random words at me and I faked a shock expression on my face for Harry to see.

“Whoa, calm down! Where are you?” I acted. Again she just mumbled several words, though I had already prepared my response.

“Oh my God Gab. Hold on, I’ll be right there.” I hung up and quickly met Harry’s gaze. He looked worried.

“What’s wrong?” he asked sincerely. Oh God. I hated lying to him.

“I’m sorry, I c-can’t come-” I paused, searching his eyes and finding nothing but confusion. “Gab and Liam are in trouble or something, I...I don’t kn-know,” I stuttered, not sure of what to say. My breathing was suddenly coming quickly and Harry automatically placed his hands on my shoulders to calm me down.

“Okay, we’ll go together?” he asked and I nodded my head quickly, not wanting to give away any single trace of glee that the plan was working. He ushered me over to the passenger door of his car and I slowly climbed in, keeping my worried gaze on my lap. It took every ounce of me not to grin widely. In one quick motion I sent the drafted text to Louis telling him we were on our way. The driver’s door then opened beside me though I didn’t look up. Almost immediately Harry’s hands were cupping my cheeks, and he forced me to look up at him.

“Where are they, Car?” he quietly said. I tore away from his gaze and struggled to form words.

“I...I, erm, some new bar or something,” I paused, looking up at him again. “Cream. She said it was called cream,” I finished, and with that he started the car.

“I know where that is,” he whispered. “It’s a new club, I think. Don’t panic,” his eyes melted into mine and I felt guilt wash all over me. ‘Chill, Carly!’ My voice spoke, and I let out an unexpected huge breath I’d been holding in. Okay, so either I was an amazing actress or Harry just didn’t click on. Either way, I was happy that he didn’t suspect anything. I stayed quiet for the rest of the short car ride, keeping my face plastered with concern and dread. As soon as we arrived Harry quickly parked his car outside and jumped out, meeting me at the door. His hand clasped around mine, sending a tingling current straight through my body and making my knees go week. Holy crap. We quickly walked towards the entrance, the only sound in the air around us being the quiet clicks on my sparkly grey heels. Jeesh, could we have made it any more obvious? As if reading my mind, Harry spoke quietly as he opened the door.

“How could something have happened to them here? It’s a bit desert-” he was cut off when hundreds of lights appeared all at once, and everyone jumped up and shouted: “Happy Birthday Harry!” His expression was priceless – I genuinely didn’t think he had had a clue. I smiled brightly beside him as his family came towards us.

“Mum!” he cried, letting go of my hand and hugging her quickly. I caught Anne’s gaze and she smiled brightly at me before letting Harry go.

“H-how?” he stammered, looking between me and her.

“Carly arranged the whole thing,” she replied, hugging me quickly. I hugged her back and smiled slightly, feeling embarrassment wash over me. I loved Harry’s family. Anne pulled away and I smiled sweetly, looking up at him. He was beaming. His arms wrapped around me and he lifted me up slightly, causing a quiet squeal to escape my lips.

“Thank you!” he whispered into my ear.

“You’re welcome,” I whispered back, grinning.

With that, the party began. Harry was immediately engulfed with all of his family and friends, which made me happy. I wanted him to have an amazing time. I looked around and found Liam and Gabby heading my way.

“Hey!” Gab cried, pulling me in for a hug. “Good job, I don’t think he knew at all!”

“Me neither!” I laughed, hugging her tightly before looking over at Liam.

“Hi!” I cried, hugging him tightly when his arms opened.

“Oh Carles, there’s so many people you have to meet!” I heard from beside me. My gaze followed the source of the voice and I found Kristen heading my way with...Lou Teasdale. And Baby Lux. Oh my fangirl emotions.

“Hi!” Lou smiled brightly. “It’s so nice to finally meet you Carly, you’re all that Harry has talked about lately!”

“Aw, it’s so nice to meet you too Lou! And Lux!” I cried, widening my eyes at the adorable baby in Lou’s arms. At the mention of her name her face shot around and she giggled quickly, her arms reaching out towards me.

“Someone wants a hug!” Lou laughed. “Do you want to meet Carly, Lux?” she whispered down to her, and in response Lux’s arms extended further towards me. Lou held her out to me and I thanked her before lifting Lux up and holding her tightly. She looked up at me and began to play with my loose hair, laughing quietly.

“Aw, hi!” I laughed, bouncing her up and down which only made her laugh even more. “Oh, you’re so cute!” I beamed at her before looking back up at Lou.

“She likes you!” she smiled widely which I returned.

“Well we’ll have to go find a table to sit at won’t we?” I spoke to Lux in my totally insane baby voice. It was instinctive. “Shall we go over there?” I pointed to one of the few empty tables for Lou to see.

“Sure!”

***

“Harry!” a familiar voice shouted behind me and so I turned around to see Ed walking in my direction.

“Hi mate!” I pulled him in for a warm hug and he smiled before pulling back.

“Great party,” he commented, looking around.

“I had nothing to do with it!” I said. “You should thank my girlfriend-”

“Carly?” he interrupted. “I just met her. She’s great, man. How did you manage to get a girl like that?” he joked, and I began to chuckle whilst nodding my head.

“I know, I’m lucky,” I smiled, searching the huge room. I noticed Maria and Gary on the opposite side of the room chatting to my mum and Robin. That was cool. I’d have to go and see them later. I then found Carly, chatting away to my old school friend Emily. I smiled at the sight of them bonding, and quickly regained myself when I found Ed talking to me.

“So...how’s this relationship going?”

“It’s amazing. I can’t explain it!” I laughed. “It just feels right, Ed.”

“I’m really happy for you,” he grinned, messing with his bright, auburn hair.

“Thanks, man. Can I ask you something?” I wondered. He looked at me for a moment and then nodded. I took out the envelope from my pocket.

“I...I need you to help me decide if I should do this.”

***

“And then I was just like, this is all a moo point!” I laughed hysterically to Em, one of Harry’s friends who had travelled down from Holmes Chapel.

“Joey Tribbiani!” she cried.

“So relatable!” I smiled, rubbing my eyes so that no tears would escape from how much I had been laughing.

“Oh Carly, you’re too funny!” she rubbed her eyes too. I loved Em, she was just as insane as I was. We had instantly got along when Harry introduced us back in Holmes Chapel last month. It was just annoying that she lived so far away.

“Don’t make me laugh, I’ll end up smudging this make up with tears,” I chuckled, setting my drink down on a table close to us. “So how have you been? How’s your beautiful little town?”

“Holmes Chapel?” she raised her eyebrows. “Carly, nothing ever changes. I’m still recovering from seeing your face there! I should travel down here more often,” she thought aloud.

“You should!” I said. “Come down any time you want. When we hung out in Holmes Chapel Harry was there, so I couldn’t ask about any embarrassing stories,” I winked. She laughed before replying.

“Oh, well there are a lot of them! And we can watch Friends all day long!” she joked.

“Deal!” I hi-fived her and looked over at the bar to see it empty.

“I’m just going to get a drink,” I quickly said, hugging her before turning away. I began to make my way over there when an arm winded around my waist and pulled me back.

“Whoa!” I laughed, trying not to break my ankle as I wobbled slightly.

“Are you busy?” he whispered into my ear, to which my cheeks flamed red in response.

“Nope,” I giggled, feeling like an excited child as he pulled me away from the party and through a door.

“Where are we going?” I laughed as he tugged on my hand, pulling me up a flight of stairs.

“I went exploring and found something,” he turned and smirked at me.

“Exploring? I feel so left out; you know I love to explore!” I replied, laughing quietly.

“Well that’s why you’re the only person I’m bringing up here,” he whispered as he opened a fire exit door at the top of the many flights of stairs. He held his arm out in a waiter style and I smiled, walking in front of him to what I found was a perfect, beautiful view of London. Oh my lord. I widened my eyes, slowly walking further away from the door and towards the egde. I placed my arms on the wall and looked out, the bright lights of London shining for those miles away to see. I could see the London Eye and Big Ben not too far away, which caused an instinctive grin to appear on my face. Harry placed his warm hands against my cold, bare arms and rubbed them slightly before wrapping them around me.

“Are you cold?” he asked quietly, his head resting on my shoulder. The wind swirled around us but I shook my head. He was keeping me warm. His hand’s tugged at my waist and I turned around to face him. His grey woollen blazer and white collared shirt looked unbelievable on him, and he smiled down at me. Nodding towards the door, he whispered: “You didn’t have to.”

“Yes I did!” I closed the small space between us, wrapping my arms around his neck. “I wanted you to celebrate your birthday, and see your family too.”

“Thank you so much, Car,” he spoke. I grinned.

“No ‘problemo,” I laughed, looking up at him. He coughed slightly before stepping away from me.

“I...I have something for you,” he said softly. I narrowed my eyebrows slightly, confused.

“Aren’t I supposed to be the one giving presents?” I laughed. “It is YOUR birthday.”

“Think of this as more...an early present.”

His hand reached up and all of a sudden he pulled out an envelope from his pocket and held it out for me. I looked between him and the brown cover, raising my eyebrows. My hands didn’t move.

“Take it, Car,” he ushered. I sighed and carefully took hold of it, stealing a glance up at him. He was biting his lip slightly but I could still see a smile tugging at the corners of his perfect jaw line. God, he looked irresistible. I looked back down, focusing my attention on what was in front of me. I slowly opened the envelope and pulled out the two pieces of paper inside. My eyes skimmed over the word and I froze. Oh. My. God. I couldn’t breathe. I quickly looked up at Harry, my eyes wide.

“Paris?!” I gasped.

“You don’t have to say yes!” he laughed. I looked back down at the two tickets and then back up at him, my mouth open but no words coming out. I finally found my voice and swallowed, still unsure of what to say.

“Are...are you kidding?!” I cried. “I’d love to!”

His face just lit up. A huge smile spread appeared and his eyes widened.

“Really?!” he laughed.

“Yes!” I threw my arms around his neck and crushed my lips against his. He pulled me close to him, keeping the fierce wind away from attacking me. I broke apart first, looking into his eyes and whispering a quiet 'thank you.' He grinned and held me tightly, staring into my eyes and barely breaking our gaze. After minutes of silence, he spoke up.

“Come on, we should get back,” Harry said, his fingers linking through mine as he pulled me towards the door. I stole one last glance at the wonderful view behind us before the fire door shut. I was so, so excited and bubbly - still couldn't believe it. Was it really real? Were Harry and I seriously going to paris? PARIS!? Together? Just us? Just us...alone. Oh my Jesus.

“Whoa!” I screamed as my ankle twisted slightly and I felt myself falling towards the floor. I closed my eyes, preparing for the worst though Harry caught me before I hit the floor.

“Car!” He loudly said, sighing with relief as his arms tightened around me. I sighed too, trying to find the strength to stand, though in all honesty I'd much rather remain like this. I looked up to see him staring down at me, his eyes blazing with clear amusement.

“God, you fall for me more every day, Car,” he winked, causing a quiet laugh to escape my lips.

“Nice chat up line,” I raised my eyebrows, smiling brightly at him as I stood back up. An arm stayed firmly around my waist and I looked towards the floor, glaring at my shoes.

“Damn heels!” I stuck one out to show him. “Should shoes this high even be legal?” I laughed. “Thanks.”

“For what?” He asked.

“Catching me,” I honestly answered, to which he kissed my forehead in response. He opened the door before us and I tore my gaze away from his eyes to find a frantic scene in front of me. What the hell?

Celebrities and guests were standing on one area of the club, all talking extremely quietly. The music was no longer playing, the once booming sound being replaced by worried voices and shouts. I caught sight of Georgia, eyes wide, hands clasping around her iPhone as she shouted down the phone. The next person I saw was Zayn - Zayn? - running out of the door with Liam and Louis chasing after him. His mouth was moving at an unbelievable speed as cursed words flew out of him. I felt my face crease with shock and grabbed a hold of Kristen's arm as I saw her running past us.

“Kris, what's going on?!” I panicked, hoping for the best but automatically expecting the worst. She looked up at me, her face plastered with alarm.

“What is it?” I heard Harry ask beside me. She pointed towards the door Zayn had just exited and shook her head.

“I...we can't find Megan.”
