Chapter 5| Welcome to Ateez

You want to look around San to see what he and Mingi are hiding from, but you can only see his eyes. His eyes were intense. The were piercing into your own when you looked into them. He was also trying to block your view from whatever was walking by. You tried not to think about the situation too much.

After the person walks by, San checked behind him then looked back at you. He looked somewhat apologetic and he quickly removed his hand from your mouth. He then looked at the direction Mingi went and he slowly started walking towards you two. 

"What was that about," you ask the two looking at both of them in an annoyed but concerned way.

"I can tell you when we get home," Mingi says to you. He then looks at San, "I think we should just skip getting food, it's not safe enough." 

San nods and grabs you hand as he starts walking the way back to the house. You let yourself get pulled as you look at the two confused. You don't talk on the whole walk home. As you get pulled by San you look at Mingi who is looking around nervously. 

When you get to the house San pulls you in and Mingi quickly shuts and locks the door behind himself once he walks in. They both let out a sigh of relief as you continue to look at them confused. 

"So are you going to tell me now, or just stand there," you ask the two who exchange glances before looking back towards you. 

"Well, you see," Mingi starts to say but he pauses. You continue looking at him and motion for him to keep going, "we do business with them." As Mingi finishes his sentence you hear San slap his forehead.

"Don't make it sound like we are buying and selling drugs with them," San says in a very offended like voice. You look at the two more confused than you were before.

"Long story short, those guys don't like us and they will find any way to ruin our lives," San says as he looks at you.

"Why doesn't he like you?" You ask still confused about the whole situation that is at hand.

"Reasons." San says after a long silence between the three of you, "but the thing is, if he would've seen you your life would've been hell, and that's part of the reason we also hid you."

You nodded slowly. You look at Mingi in the eyes and you could tell that what San had said must've been true.

~Time Skip~

It was Monday. You hadn't been back to school after the incident and now you were going to school with San and Mingi. You didn't know what to think about it, all the people and what they would say.

San walked to school and Mingi drove, which made you realize why they get to school at different times. You go ahead of them so that people don't realize that you had come together.

When you get to school, you go about as if it's a normal day, being nobody and not interacting with people. When the first round of whispers came up it was because Mingi and Seonghwa had walked in. Seonghwa gave you a small wave that only you could see and Mingi gave a small smile.

You hoped that it would be a normal day, but that all ended.

You head the second round of whispers and looked up. You saw San walk in with Wooyoung. Wooyoung departed from San and you turned back around closing your locker to go to your first class. Before you started walking, San puts his arm around you and smiles.
