-10 Days Remaining-
-Mall Date Pt 2-

The pair of boys had long since gotten their food from one of the many fast food places in the food court. Yes, of course, they had chosen Panda Express. What could they say? They both loved their chow mien. The two of them were too busy shoving their faces full of noodles to say a word to each other, that or they both knew the silence was essential. Moonbin needed to think on things, just as Dongmin did. Besides, a little silence never hurt anybody, right?

The pinkette held his utensils tightly as he shoveled his food into his mouth. Ever so often, he would glance up at his friend, only to look away when he was caught staring. He opted for focusing on something to the right of him, just to make sure he could avoid the awkward eye contact. His heart dropped when he heard a sigh come from his partner and the sound of chopsticks being set down.

"Bin."

He pretended he hadn't noticed the other's distraught voice and continued eating.

"Bin."

He didn't answer.

"Moonbin."

Silence.

"Moonbin!"

The younger finally looked up. He was taken off guard when he found that what used to be soft brown eyes had turned dark and sad. Did he make Dongmin sad somehow? He didn't mean to; he swore he didn't. The speed of his heart gradually began to accelerate as the gloomy eyes poured into his. The slight twinkle that lit up the irises of the older's orbs was gone, leaving them dark, mimicking that of a dim, abandoned forest in the midst of collapsing.

Moonbin frowned deeply. "Dongmin? Hey, don't be upset. I'm not mad at--"

"Jesus Christ, Moonbin!" the other suddenly exclaimed. His bottom lip stared to wobble, sorrowful eyes glazing over in the most delicate yet cruel of ways. "Do you have any idea...?" His voice trembled; tears began to cascade down the milky mountains of his cheeks. His hands shot up to cover his face, shoulders shaking.

Moonbin went numb. He hated watching the person he loved cry; he hated it so damn much.

His sunshine was hidden behind a black cloud of tears. What could he do? The one thing, the one person, that allowed him to breathe was suddenly breaking down in front of him. He felt his own airway constrict. Images of Dongmin's shaking shoulders haunted his vision. Any remaining pieces of his damaged heart became quickly grinded into the grains of sand flowing from his hourglass, counting down the days as they gradually slipped through his fingers.

What could he do to make his sun shine as it always did? What would he have to sacrifice?

He desperately wanted to reach out. He wanted to run soothing circles on Dongmin's back; he wanted to tread his fingers through the knots of his hair. He wanted to do something to make it all better, but he had no idea what caused this break down, so he couldn't. Was it him that made this happen? Was it because he had touched him just a day before? Was it because Dongmin was sick and tired of his presence, or was it because he was practically forcing all of these dates on him? What did he do wrong? What was wrong?

All he managed to do was sit there with wide eyes as the minutes passed. His heart was racing, mind sent into turmoil; his body wouldn't move. He kept telling himself, "Make it better, make it better, you have to make it better," but how was he supposed to make it better when the sight alone sent him into such a panic that he couldn't bring even a single part of his body to shift as much as an inch?
