PIZZA PARTY

"Anyone know how to cook here?"
"I'm starving"
"The kitchen is empty"
"How is a boy to survive with no food?!"

Thoughts flooded over Komako's rambling mind as she focused to form a sentence in sign language.
You are pretty dog, she groaned, shaking her hands and head in sync before trying again.

"Hey do you want to get some food and eat with our classmates?" I interrupted her, pulling my phone out to text Kiri. Maybe he'd order us some pizza.

Red Riot:
-That was my old room! See if the closet still has a loose floorboard!
-Baku says don't look in the floorboard. He hid secrets.
-Go for it!  Haha

I smiled at Kiri's text before typing him a new message.

Mind Melt:
-Hey, me and the other kids are hungry. Could you order some pizza? There are 10 girls and 10 boys. Pretty please?! Love you; miss you!

"You texted your dad? I just did the same thing!" she laughed as she showed me her phone."The more pizza, the better I think." she went back to her phone, humming something that was getting through her thoughts to mine. I ignored it, checking my phone as it buzzed twice.

Red Riot:
Yeah. It's ordered and paid for. Love and miss you too kid!

Baka:
Don't you touch that closet! I'll come check it out myself when this red-haired loser lets me out of the lockbox!

I laughed at Bakugo's text as I typed back to Kiri.

Mind Melt:
Thanks, Kiri! You're the best!

One of the requirements of adopting me was that the agency had to put in a "lock box" which nullified our quirks for both angry Bakugo and hormonal me. My screams and his explosions were enough to destroy any home. I definitely planned on looking through the floorboards before Bakugo could. Just to piss him off honestly.

"Come on. Can you tell the others pizza is on its way?" I questioned Komako who showed me the text from her dad, also confirming that pizza was on its way. She bounded out of the room her mouth wide and moving as she yelled for everyone. I quickly changed my uniform to some more comfortable jeans and a U.A. sweatshirt that was stretched and contained burn marks. Harding and explosion quirks didn't bode well for old sweaters. I slid from my room, heading down the stairs to seek Komako signing off on the two orders of pizza. I rushed to grab a stack from her, dropping them off in the kitchen followed by the green haired girl. She must have yelled again for our new classmates because they rushed in, taking over the boxes one by one. Komako and I had a box of my favourite leftover for the two of us.

"I hope this is okay. It's a weird combination, but I like it." I thought to her, revealing alfredo sauce, pineapple, and bacon. She seemed to think about it before grabbing a slice.

"It's amazing, Akiara-kun" her face softened then looked up over my shoulder. She glanced back to me as I took a bite of the hot pizza. "They want to thank you for the pizza." she pointed behind me to my 18 classmates signing thank you over and over. They froze as my eyes turned blue so I could talk to them.

"It's no problem. I am Akiara Kirishima-Bakugo and my quirk is telepathy as you see here." I smiled though took as step back as they all stood up, mouths moving at once.

"Jesus, they're deaf people!" Komako's thoughts matched her mouth as she scolded our classmates. I sank down into a nearby chair, my appetite waning. Not only was I at a new school away from Kiri, but I also didn't know any of my classmates and none of them could talk to me, not without my quirk anyway. If I hadn't been born not being able to hear, maybe things would be different. But who wants an weak, deaf person as a friend?

Grabbing a second slice I left the busy room of students to head back upstairs. I wanted the sanctuary of my room and a FaceTime call with Kiri.

Hey sweetheart, everything okay? Kiri answered on the second ring, glancing into the room behind him.

Just missing you. Did you let Bakugo out of the lock box yet? I signed back, biting into my pizza as he yelled something behind him.

Yeah, he's mad at me for locking him in there. He'll get over it. He rolled his eyes, making me laugh. I felt a slight pain in my chest as I watched him through the tiny screen. How are your roommates?

They're okay. I met one I think I'm friends with now. Her name is Midoriya Komako. I spelled, seeing his eyes widen.

Bakugo doesn't need to know that. He and her father have a checkered past he signed back, wincing as he yelled something to Bakugo again.

Do you need to go deal with him?

Yeah I'm sorry Akiara. I love you though, okay? Call again later he started to stand.

I love you. Bye, Kiri. we waved hanging up the phones.

I laid back in bed, laying my unfinished slice of pizza on my nightstand. Two more days until classes started. I closed my eyes, trying to focus on my classmates downstairs. Hearing from a distance was hard, that's how my worst migraines occurred. But training my quirk took time, effort, and headaches.

"I hope the deaf girl is okay"
"I wonder how classes are going to go?"
"Her father is Bakugo. No wonder she's a loner"
"Damn, I shouldn't have eaten that sixth slice"
"Join me, girl"

I jerked up to a sitting position, the sun starting to set now. That last voice. Fuzen couldn't have found me already. U.A. was protected. I was protected.

I hoped.
