The phone rang twice before Kirishima answered with a grin on his face Hey kid how was day one? he was eating what looked like popcorn while he signed.

You'll ruin your appetite! I laughed, my chest aching again. Classes were fine. Aizawa and Mic wouldn't sign for me though. Made it harder. And then sign language was great. You didn't tell me you paid for the class! his face shifted to match the red tips of his hair, his roots were starting to show. I wondered if he realised that.

I didn't know they would tell you that who is your sign language teacher by the way

Pro hero Deku. He's been the only one to learn the language from what I can tell. And speaking of Deku, he invited us to dinner tonight. They wanted to thank me for saving Komako at the entry exam. Kiri choked on his popcorn, glancing behind him where Bakugo had appeared. He held up a finger while he told Bakugo what I said. I chewed on the inside of my cheek while Bakugo stood deadpan after Kiri told him.

OK he signed at the camera, walking out of view. Kiri stared after him for a minute before turning back to me.

He just exploded something. But we are coming .

Just come to the dorm at 5:30. You can walk with me and Komako. I love you.

I love you too kid. I've got to go, something is burning He hung up the phone, the screen black. So Bakugo was coming to Deku's. I felt like we were all about to regret this.

I pulled myself from the desk chair standing in front of my closet. I had no clue what to wear. I glanced over my dresses and my sweaters. Did I go dressy? Did I go casual? I let my eyes fall on something I didn't wear often. I scratched my side as I grabbed the loose orange sweater in the middle of my closet to wear. I could avoid a bra altogether with this. I pulled my button down off, my T-shirt joining it on my bed. There were red lines criss-crossing all over my torso as I took the sports bra I'd been wearing all day off. I massaged my sides under my arms as I grabbed the sweater to pull it over my head. It felt amazing to take a deep breath as I wasn't wearing restrictive clothing. I fished a pair of non-holy jeans from my dresser and replaced the schools green slacks with them. My grey converse lay beside the door where I had kept them off. Why did I feel so nervous? This was a thank you dinner. I felt as if I had just been asked for betrothal. My feet slid into the grey converse and I fell back onto my bed. I shouldn't feel so nervous to spend time with Komako but I did. Maybe it was because Bakugo was going to be there. I couldn't even imagine how fast this night was about to go downhill.

I peeled myself from the covers, bending down to grab my bag, a book and my journal nestled together in the bottom. You never catch me without one and the other. I took a breath as I headed out of the sanctuary of my room to go knock on Komako's door. She appeared in the absence of the wood, a bright smile taking up her face. I took a second to admire her dress. It was orange, the same warm colour as my sweater. She wore a signature tan sneakers with the dress. I felt warmth creep onto my face as my eyes jumped back to her warm brown ones.

You ready? She signed, a look of confusion on her face the entire time.

Yes my dad's are meeting us here I signed slowly for her, mouthing the words. She nodded, linking our arms as she skipped down to the main floor. Kirishima and Bakugo stood awkwardly in the middle of the common room. Bakugo had his hands shoved in his pockets, nudging Kiri when he saw me. I assumed Kiri dressed the blonde. Bakugo was in a white tee with an open black button down, and tight looking blue jeans. His hair was combed through, laying almost flat instead of in spikes.

I jumped to hug Kirishima, taking in the deep purple sweater he wore over a white button down. His dark wash jeans blue jeans fit with the white sneakers he wore. From the bright red line I caught on his ear, he had re-dyed his hair since the afternoon.

You guys look nice I turned to Bakugo as he pulled his hands from his pocket, offering his arms in a small gesture. I hugged the blonde feeling his arms actually wrapping around my torso.

"Thinking about nothing, you can't get me" Bakugo hummed to himself. I had no idea what he was actually thinking. I assumed it wasn't good things.

Oh, Kiri, Bakugo this is Komako. Komako, these are my parents. I signed, Komako giggling, jumping into a conversation with Kiri.

"Just like Deku and Round face"  Bakugo grumbled to himself, his hands back in his pockets.

"I've missed you, Baku"  I thought over to him, annoyance crossing his face before he turned to look at me.

"It's been quieter than normal with you here." I smiled at him as we followed behind Kiri and Komako who were leading the way.

"I have Aizawa for homeroom" I saw anger cross his eyes.

"He's a bastard. Doesn't know a number one hero when they are right in front of him."

"He kept a girl named Mineta today. He didn't expel her, even though she placed last in the quirk test."  Bakugo laughed, calling up to Kiri, who laughed as well.

"Pray you never meet her balls-headed father. He's a creep, and a pervert, and I'll explode his head,"  he shoved his hands deeper in his pockets. "Are we there yet?"  I noticed he refrained from saying it out loud.

"Should be soon. Did you know a Tokoyami?"

"Yeah, he had a bird head and married the frog girl"

"Their son has bird feathers. I don't know his quirk though." Bakugo gave a small smile, sending warmth through me. The smile faded back to his resting scowl as we approached a huge house. Komako lead us inside, Deku and pro hero Uravity grabbing their daughter in a hug. A little boy, maybe four, sprinted into the room, his skin taking on a green glow as he tugged Komako's dress and sprinted from the room again.

"Sorry about my brother. He's fast and we haven't figured out how to calm him down yet."  the brown haired boy appeared again, his green eyes wide as he found a way to Bakugo's shoulders. I saw the blonde shrug, stomping around with the kid, smiling at his laughter. Kiri and I stared at them with open mouths. I noted that Deku and Uravity were staring too. Had Bakugo wanted a little boy instead of me?

I excused myself to the bathroom, staring at myself in the mirror. Bakugo wanted nothing to do with me when I was six, and basically told me I was his redemption of the number one hero spot. And now he's out there with the kid of someone Kiri told me he all but hated. He had smiled at the kid and immediately begin playing with him. I was jealous of a four-year-old. I washed my hands to give an excuse for taking so long in the restroom. My red eyes judged my hurt expression as I dried my hands, and tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear. I guessed I looked presentable.

Opening the door, I nearly crashed into Komako, her brown eyes wide as she stepped back. Are you okay? her hands moved, her brows softening her surprised face.

Yeah I'm good I faked a smile, reading the girls eyes. She gave a small smile in return, walking with me to the dining room.

Dinner is ready. Kirishima wanted me to come find you We entered the dining room, Komako leaving my side to help bring out dinner with Deku. I ignored Kiri's stare and sat in the empty chair next to him.

"What's wrong with you?" I met Bakugo's eyes with a deadpan stare, watching him flinch at my blue eyes.

"Nothing. I am hungry and honestly just waiting for you to explode on Deku and embarrass us." I bit my lip as I thought it, my ears burning as he looked away from me, clearly hurt. Now I was the embarrassment. I picked at my nails while we silently waited for the Midoriya's to join us, Komako's brother flitting around the room like a green hummingbird.
