Thanks again for dinner! I signed as Kiri, Bakugou, Komako, and I waved to Deku and Uravity. We headed into the dark, the boys walked with us, escorting us to the dorms.
"Hey, how'd your hair get wet, Akiara?" Komako thought towards me, linking our arms.
"Bakugou splashed me washing the dishes. Didn't you notice his went spiky?" I chuckled, glancing behind us, smiling at my dads holding hands. Bakugou was keeping his eyes on our surroundings.
"Hey girl" the deep voice echoed in my head, stopping me in my tracks. Komako glanced in my direction, her voice not entering my head. "Glad to know you can hear me. I hope your family is fast enough to protect you, child" I felt the hair stand up on the back of my neck as I glanced around the street.
"No one speak a word out loud, please" I directed at my parents and Komako. They glanced my direction, but nodded. I gave Bakugou a sour look, watching him drop Kirishima's hand.
"Warning them does nothing, girl," He chuckled moments before the ground began to vibrate. Everyone covered their ears as the vibrations got bigger. So he'd brought Nari too. We were in a lot of danger.
"Everyone run towards the dorms, please! Refrain from using your quirks right now" I grabbed Komako's hands, taking a step towards the dorms before the green haired girl pulled away from me, holding her ears again. Nari was getting closer.
"Using Nari to prevent us from moving is weak. You are afraid, Fuzen. And it's pathetic" I spat in my biological father's direction, still standing through Nari's waves.
The sound was veering from the east, behind us. They'd followed us from Deku's. The waves increased, the pavement starting to buckle. I needed to stop Nari from using her voice. I turned against the wind, glancing down the dark path. I needed to get closer. I needed to see them. I felt Bakugou's explosion as I walked past him. A fireball flew by my face toward where the vibrations were coming from. I could feel the heat on my face. I was going to have a sunburn tomorrow. Bakugou's bloodshot eyes were determined as he yelled, covering his ears again. I pushed myself forward, my body feeling heavy as a result of the constant droning of my mother's quirk. She had a good set of lungs.
A glimpse of red stood out on the roof of a nearby house. "Peek-a-boo. I see you" I grinned in the direction of my mother, letting a scream rip through my body, aimed at Nari. Her vibration stopped, my footing stable while I scanned the rooftops for Fuzen.
"You WILL join me, girl. Maybe not today. But one day you will answer the wrong question and you will join me and your destiny" his blue eyes pierced through me as he held my mother, stepping into a black car which sped off.
My knees hit the ground as I wiped at the blood that had started to trickle from my nose. My throat felt raw again as I scratched at the skin on the outside. It felt like I'd swallowed hot coals. I felt Kirishima running behind me, turning to face him and Bakugou. They both held one of Komako's hands, all three with blood stained cheeks and necks. Nari could have killed them.
Are you okay? I signed, wiping my nose clear again. Bakugou tapped his head, dropping Komako's hand.
"Tell me who the hell that was, Akiara" I sighed, focusing on all three of them, eyes glowing blue.
"The sound quirk was my biological mother. I think he stayed hidden from you guys, but my biological father was here too" I pulled my shaking knees from the ground.
"Why the hell are they attacking you in the middle of the street?" Bakugou's eyes burned through me. Anger seeping off the blond in waves.
"They want me back now. I have a powerful quirk. I would be useful to them now. But they are villains. I will put them in jail myself once I get my hero license." The trio stared at me, horror, confusion, and pure anger resting on their faces.
"Show me what he looks like and I will kill him" Bakugou snarled.
"So you didn't see him at all?" They all shook their heads. "Okay. Until they step food on UA property, this is my problem. Alone. Got it?" I got three pairs of wide eyes as I scoffed, brushing past them to head back to the dorms. I wasn't arguing about this anymore.
"Akiara! We are just worried. Bakugou and Kirishima couldn't do anything through your mother's quirk. There were terrified to lose you. They tried to get to you beofre you made it stop!" Komako grabbed my shoulder, keeping the pace.
"I'm not going anywhere. This is my battle and I'm not risking anyone over that. I know more about the both of them than anyone" I shrugged the girl off, quickening my pace. I knew I was being irrational but Bakugou nor Kiri knew about my biological parents until just now. They adopted a villains' kid. I didn't need their reactions right now. I couldn't look at myself the same. So how could Kiri or Bakugou.
"Akiara, please! Stop down. I'm worried about you, kid" Kirishima's voice sounded sincere. I needed my dad. I turned to face the three following me and let Kiri engulf me in a hug. My shoulders started to shake and I hugged him back as the panic attack I'd been fighting crawled to the surface. Kiri tightened his hug, a hand soothing my hair. Bakugou and Komako stood back, their hair the only thing I could see around Kirishima's arms.
"Let's get you kids back to the dorms now, okay?" I nodded into Kiri's chest, shifting so he arm was around my shoulders till. But I could see where I was going. Komako linked her arm with my free one. Bakugou wrapped his arm around Kirishima's waist, his knuckled brushing my stomach. The four of us made way down the street like that. I could feel the vibrations through Kiri's chest every time he spoke to either Bakugou or Komako.
"Wanna watch a movie in the common room with your parents when we get back?" Komako asked as we rounded the corner, the UA dorm the only nearby building with its lights on.
"We can. I know I need some Advil and some honey-infused tea" I smiled to Komako. My body felt like I had tried to fight Kirishima with his quirk activated. Last time I tried that, I had new bruises everyday for a month. Komako squealed, her mouth moving quickly as he spoke to the boys. I felt Kiri stiffen for a split second before smiling at me with a nod. So she hadn't asked them first. I shook my head at the worried smiles around me as we walked through the front doors to the dorm.
Tokoyami was perched in the living room with the pink skinned boy from class. His blond hair stood up in tuffs, almost hiding the zigzag horns poking through. He'd barely passed Aizawa's class. Just above me I think. But I couldn't remember his name. They glanced at Komako and shrugged, nodding at us before sliding over to allow Komako to sit on their couch. Kiri sat me on the adjacent couch and headed into the kitchen. Bakugou joined on my left, placing his hand over mine. I smiled at him as Komako dove into Netflix to find a movie to watch. I shifted to lay my head on Bakugou's shoulder as Kiri came back, a steaming cup and Advil in his hands.
Thank you. I signed as I took the cup, taking the Advil with a mouth burning sip of honey infused tea. I placed my head back on Bakugou's shoulder as Komako clicked on Spiderverse, putting on the subtitles for me.
Four days into my UA career, and my biological parents had already tried their attack on me. I just hoped they would leave me be. Bakugou and Kiri would be more cautious now. I knew that. I just hoped they would let me handle this for now. Fuzen and Nari could really do some damage and I wasn't losing my dads or Komako to them.
I yawned as I watched the movie, my eyes closing as the colours danced across the screen. I felt safe and at home with my dads.
