"You're lying to me," Jeongguk says, a fake laugh quick to follow. "You're lying! You have to be! Right, okay, funny. Joke's up now. Very funny,"
But Suho's stern face never falters.
Jeongguk continues to laugh it off, waving his hand as if this really is a joke, that Suho will break into a chuckle and sweep Jeongguk off of his feet.
"You? Straight?" Jeongguk continues. "Stop, you're making my fucking sides hurt!" Not at all believing what his boyfriend is saying.
"Jeongguk-"
"C'mon, very funny but give it up now. I was thinking of ordering takeout, what d'you think?" Jeongguk asks as he waltzes away from Suho to sweep up the leaflet that came through the door a few days ago. He scans the items, licking his lips.
"I'm leaving you," Suho says.
"Mhm, yeah, okay," Jeongguk says with a nod, but he's not really paying attention to him.
Suho sighs heavily and strides over, taking the leaflet away from Jeongguk, letting it fall to the ground. It's like as soon as the paper hits the ground, the realization sets in.
"We're sorry, Kook. But I just can't keep this up anymore. I love her, so much, and she knows how much it's going to hurt you. But it hurts more to be cheating behind-"
A sharp slap to Suho's cheek forces silence to come crashing down around them.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence," Jeongguk says lowly.
"I'm sorry," is all Suho can offer, eyes focused on the ground so that he doesn't have to face Jeongguk. The younger can only scoff as his hand falls limply to his side. His palm stings with the force, but he does nothing to soothe it.
"Get out," Jeongguk orders. Suho waits a moment before slowly nodding. The younger watches as he turns away to retrieve most of his things, telling Jeongguk how he'll pick up the rest before he walks out of the door, leaving the keys in the bowl by the entrance.
It's when he hears the door click shut that he collapses. Falls to his knees and screams out, pounding his weak fists against the ground and crying out, tears streaming down his cheeks, making his eyes burn. In a blind rage, Jeongguk forces himself up from the ground, tearing himself away from his previous spot to sweep every photo from their decorative table that sits by the large windows, knocking it all to the floor. Everything slams to the ground, smashing noises echoing in the boy's ears. With gritted teeth, he picks up the lone photo frame, unaffected by the sweep. A holiday photo stares back at him, their happy faces taunting Jeongguk. Without a second thought, he smashes it against the ground, stepping around the broken glass. He can feel stinging in his feet and he's convinced that he's stepped in it, but he hardly cares. The physical pain doesn't register over the emotional as he charges into the bathroom, emptying the medical cabinet for any medication they have. He scoops up bottles and boxes, carrying them into the kitchen where he lays them all out.
Alcohol still remains from their celebrations. Jeongguk had recently graduated from Uni, and he and Suho had decided on a party. The bottles that are either half full or untouched remain under the sink, so Jeongguk doesn't even think twice before he's bringing out bottles of vodka, wine, and whiskey, the bottles staring back at him, almost daring him to chug it all down.
With only one thought in mind, he pops out each pill and chucks them all back, the alcohol making him feel light headed. In anger, he throws each empty bottle away, uncaring of where they land or if they smash. But It's not until it's too late that he realizes. That he gets scared and panics. A sudden panic attack breaches him and he has no option but to submit. He heaves for air as he scrambles for his phone, legs shaky and knees weak. He's close to just collapsing. He finds his phone on the couch, where his legs finally give out. His stomach pulsates as he cries, head pounding. His fingers tremble, barely able to find Jimin's number.
Jimin's laughing when he picks up, and Jeongguk can hear Yoongi's voice in the background. "Hey, Kookie," he greets as he laughs again.
"Hy-hyung-" Jeongguk chokes out.
"Kook?"
"I messed up h-hyung. I fucked up-"
"Hey, hey, calm down, Kookie, I'm sure it's okay! Where's Suho?"
The name makes Jeongguk cry out harder, the sound strangulated and desperate.
"Jeongguk, where are you?" Jimin demands to know. "Are you home?"
Jeongguk can only manage a hum. He can feel the bile rising in his throat as he heaves, desperate for it to leave his body. His throat burns and his stomach pulsates, skull daring to crack with the amount of pressure his headache supplies. He cries out at the pain, both emotional and physical.
"I'm coming, Kook. Stay there,"
