Jacob's POV

Looking down at the sleeping peaceful girl down in front of me made me feel happy yet freaked out. One of Alex's leg's from the knee down was done. All that was left of that leg was her thigh. The cut was still very red and the stitched were very visible.

"Oh my gosh her leg." Kenna said crying into Cami's shoulder. Cami just patted her back trying to calm her. Looking at the missing part of her leg made me mad. I don't know why. The gosh dang person who hit her better have a good reason. If he doesn't then he is dead.

Hours we sat there waiting for Alex to wake up. She would stir and we would think she was awake but she would go right back to sleeping. It made me angry but I held in my emotions because I knew I would probably do something I would regret.

Right now it was only me in the room with Alex because the others went to get food. I told them I wasn't hungry but Haven insisted on bringing me food, so I am letting him, although I told him to eat first.

I was sitting on the side of Alex's bed holding her hand. It was weird how perfectly her small hands fit in mine. Haven keeps asking me if I like her but every time I say no. Eventually I feel like that answer may change.

Snap out of it Jacob. I am only using her to find my sister. But how is she going to find my sister while in the hospital with a missing leg. I sighed but I must have been too loud because Alex jolted awake.

I looked at her dead in the eye and held her hand waiting for her to calm down. Once her eyes officially locked with mine I could see her visibly relax. As much as I know she doesn't like me I know I affect her a lot.

"What happened." She said. Her voice was raspy and sounded dry. Currently there was no water around so I will have to wait for Haven to get back with my food.

"You got into an accident Alex. You lost you leg." I said blankly. She looked at me horrified and then threw the blankets off of her revealing the missing leg. Instantly tears started streaming down her face. Quickly I moved up to her and pulled her too me. She just cried on my shoulder. I have never once let anyone do this. What the heck is this girl doing to me.

"H-how will I d-do missions n-now." She said sobbing between some words. I just shook my head and held onto her letting her cry. I could feel the wetness on my shirt as more tears left her eyes.

"D-do you think m-my uncle will h-hate me." She said looking up at me. Looking at her made my heart broken. Her eyes and nose were red from crying.

"No. There was no way to stop this. He won't hate you." I said. She nodded and rested her head on my chest.

"You know I told you not to die on your way home." I said looking down at her. She looked up at me with a sad smile.

"Since when have I ever listened to you." She said trying to brighten the mood. It worked a little bit but not much.

"Well for as long as I have known you, never." I said. A small smile played on her lips. She looked out the window that was over by the couch. She looked deep in thought for a few moment.

"My uncle would be killing me right now." She said with a small laugh. I looked at her confused. I swear if that man even tries to lay a hand on her.

"Why?" I asked, curiosity dripped out of my mouth. She smiled and shrugged.

"His number one rule was to not fall in love. Not saying I love you but I am laying here and I have my head on your chest. He would flip right now. Especially since you are the one he wants me to interrogate." Alex finished off her small speech. It kind of hurt when she said she didn't love me but that's okay. I don't know how I feel about her yet.

"Just next time you go outside. Don't die okay." I finally said moving away from her and onto the couch. She nodded with a smile.

     "I'll try but no promises."
