The Spy

Chapter 45

Alex's POV

    Busy is one word to describe how the last 3 days of my life has been. Each day was even more busy than the next. I honestly just wanted to go back to Jacob's and sleep in his arms all day. That sounded so much better than the constant need to be rushed around.

   Day #1

    Kenna, Benny, and I basically slept the whole way to Kenna's parents house. It was about an hour drive so it wasn't that long but we all were very exhausted. 

    At Kenna's parents house we had a huge dinner. Every year the Marshall's hold a family dinner. Cousin's from all across the state come and eat. It is always a great meal. Mrs, Marshall is a great cook. This place has always been like a second home to me. We all were here a lot, well more than my house at least. We were at Benny's a lot too. I didn't get on my phone much while we were here. I just never really cared enough to look at it. 

    Mama M, which is the name she told us to call her, made each of open 2 presents. I didn't even want anything but Mama M insisted. I ended up getting a beanie and a pair of earbuds. Kenna got more of course but she didn't open any of her presents. Benny got some type of Axe spray and a hoodie. 

    After we said our goodbyes to the family we went to a hotel. Almost as soon as we got to the room I fell asleep. I didn't even bother changing out of my hoodie and leggings.

Day #2

  Today was the long drive to Benny's grandma's house. For Benny's families tradition they always meet at his grandparents house and have a small dinner with the family. It wasn't as big as Kenna's, it was nice though.

    I was dressed in a lose red dress that went to my knees. I didn't care that my fake leg was showing, honestly I didn't care if anyone knew I had it. I was just glad to be out of a wheelchair. We had to dress a little fancier than we did for Kenna's family. Kenna was wearing a knee length tight dark green dress. Benny was wearing black dress pants with a red shirt and green tie. It was weird seeing him all dressed up. 

    As soon as we got to Benny's grandparents house we were tackled in hugs. His grandmother hugged me for a solid two minutes, not like I was complaining, I loved his grandmother. We ate the small dinner which was very good and went to presents. Again I told them not to get me anything but they didn't listen.

    His grandmother ended up getting me a silver necklace with a panda charm on it. I thanked her and opened the gift from Benny's mother. Inside the small box was a snow globe with a photo inside. The photo was of Benny, Kenna, and I the day we I got back from the hospital when I was 7. It was my all time favorite photo of us all. I may have been bruised and scratched from the accident but I was smiling like crazy. I smiled and hugged his mother tight. 

   After we left Benny's house I decided to make them stop at a mall outside of town. I decided I should get Kenna, Benny, Piper, Allie, Haven, Olive, and Jacob, maybe Maxwell a Christmas gift. Walking into many stores I got something I thought everyone would like, well everyone but Jacob. I didn't know what to get him. I was starting to honestly stress out. 

    Then out of the corner of my eye I saw exactly what I should get him. With a smile on my face I grabbed the item and walked over to cashier. Gathering all my items I met up with the other two and we made our way back to the car. I sighed ready for tomorrow to come.

  Day #3

       Today we are going back home. I am so happy. I have wanted nothing more than to sleep in a comfy bed and not some gross hotel bed. You never know what happened on those beds. Oh and the things that could be living in them. Ugh its just gross.

    After we got back from shopping yesterday I wrapped all of the gifts. I am just really hoping that they have a tree put up. If they don't im gonna flip. 

    Pulling back into the familiar town of Bentley, a smile formed onto my lips. Of course I was gonna go back to the apartment. Kenna and I are gonna decorate the apartment and put up a tree. After that I am hoping I get the chance to go to Jacob's house.

    "So are you ready to decorate this whole place." Kenna said coming up with me with Walmart bags full of decorations. I smiled and took some bags from her and setting them on the couch. 

  In about 3 hours Kenna and I decorated a tree and the whole apartment. I knew we only had two days until Christmas but I didn't care. A wave of the Christmas spirit ran through me. I smiled at the work we did. It was totally worth setting Jacob aside for a little bit.  

     After a little bit I managed to get Haven to come pick me up. He was going on and on about how excited he was to see his sister on Christmas. He told me all about the things him and his family do every year. A smile stayed on my lips the whole car ride. Honestly I don't see how these people can be so cruel. Haven is so bubbly and always so happy. Well I guess Jacob can be scary sometimes. I have gotten used to the scary side of him though. 

   I basically skipped up the driveway, the bags of gifts swung at my side. I didn't even bother knocking and just went right in. Jacob walked in with a huge smile. I instantly froze in my spot. My eyes darted around the room that were revealed by open doors. I almost dropped my gifts, my mouth dropping open. 

     "Where are your Christmas decorations." I said through gritted teeth. Jacob instantly froze as well.
