Jade yawned as she opened her eyes and was only slightly surprised to see that Tori was still sleeping. After what had happened to her last night, that was somewhat understandable. Truth be told, Jade was happy with the decision she had made last night. It wouldn't have been right to chose anything else.
Last Night
Tori softly kissed Jade and smiled even though there were still tear stains on her face. Jade, to be honest was feeling guilty. How can I do this? It's not right, she thought to herself as Tori continued planting kisses on the side of Jade's face. Jade looked down at the ground and for a moment, she wondered what would happen to the relationship the two of them had already built if she went through with this. Tori was scared, Jade knew that but she had to be dealing with other issues. Possibly issues that she was trying to keep bottled up which wasn't exactly the best thing to do, Jade knew that for a fact and to add the complications that usually came with sex could possibly destroy their relationship before it had a chance to fully develop.
"Tori, wait." She said quietly and Tori pulled her face away from the side of Jade's neck. She looked confused and just a tiny bit hurt by the tone of Jade's voice. "We can't do this. Not now." Jade said in a voice that was somewhat quiet. She winced as she saw the look of hurt spread across Tori's face.
"You...You don't want to...?" Tori asked sadly. Jade shook her head so hard for a brief moment she thought she might injure her neck. "No...I, I do, but we can't do it like this. Not while you're having these issues. It wouldn't be right."
"But I want to do this with you! I...I want to feel safe!" Tori said desperately as she tried to push Jade to the bed. Jade held her ground. "Tori, right now you need help. You need to find someone to help you with what you're feeling because what you went through was traumatic. For all you know, those dreams could just be the start of something worse." Jade gently placed her hand on Tori's cheek and smiled slightly. "We will do this one day, I promise, I'm looking forward to it as much as you are, but we can't do it right now. It wouldn't help you. It would make things even more complicated and it could ruin what we already have."
"Jade...I can't be alone tonight. I just can't!"
"And you won't be." Jade said softly as she pulled Tori towards the bed and sat down on one side of it. "Lay down." She said quietly. "I'll be with you all night." Tori hesitantly laid down on the other side of the bed and looked over at Jade as she laid down on the bed herself and pulled the blankets over the two of them. She wrapped her arms around Tori.
"I'll be here if you need anything. But tomorrow, we're going to find someone to help you. Sleep well and remember, I'll always be there for you." Jade said quietly. Tori adjusted her body to find a better position to sleep in before turning to look at Jade and smiled slightly.
"I don't know what I did to deserve someone like you." She said softly as she turned towards the other side of the bed and closed her eyes.
I could ask myself the same thing. Jade thought to herself as she smiled and closed her eyes as she listened to Tori's soft breathing.
Morning
Jade looked away from Tori and at the clock on her wall. It was around ten in the morning and she knew that there wasn't any school today due to the weekend. She could see that Tori had actually slept well the night before. She had whimpered a few times and Jade had assumed that she was still having the dreams but whenever she did Jade would gently stroke her back and the whimpers would stop after a few seconds.
"Tori, it's time to wake up." Jade saw the covers shift slightly as Tori moved a bit to a more comfortable position. Jade frowned slightly "You might want to wake up. First off, we need to eat and then we're going to find you someone who can help you."
Still no movement.
"Don't make me get a glass of water."
That got her attention as Tori turned over to face her. "You wouldn't."
Jade smirked. "Try me."
After a few moments, Tori pushed the covers back and got to her feet as she looked down at Jade. "Breakfast?"
"We've got cereal and frozen waffles. Take your pick." Jade said with a smile as she got up. She was caught off guard a moment later as Tori embraced her and smiled. "Thank you...for what you did last night. I did some thinking and you were right. It wouldn't have been a good idea." Tori said softly as she kissed the side of Jade's face.
Jade blushed slightly as the two of them headed downstairs. Jade couldn't help but smile. She knew the challenge ahead would be difficult but she knew that as long as she could help Tori thought it, everything would be alright.
But for now...the hardships could wait. And breakfast was sounding really good at the moment.
