Supernatural Oneshots

Show jumping

I lead my horse out of the stables and to the arena where I line him up with the mounting block as I step up onto it. I check his girth and give him a pat. I put my left foot into the stirrup and lift myself onto my horse's back, checking my stirrups to make sure they're secure.

I see a car pull up and I smile, recognising it immediately. As soon as the car stops a small child gets out and runs up towards me.

"N/N!" The child exclaims as they stand on the fence and look at me.

"Hi JJ!" I say happily as I lead my horse over to JJ so she can give him a pat.

I look over to the car and see two adults and a couple more children get out of the car and walk towards me. I give them a smile as they reach the fence.

"Hey Y/N," Jensen greets holding one of the twins.

"Hey guys, you're here early, I was gonna get a quick show jumping course in before you got here," I say pointing to the course set up behind me. 

"Well, traffic was good," Danneel says with a shrug.

"Why don't you guys put your bags inside, my mum should be home still and then you can come watch me, sound good?" I say more to JJ.

JJ nods happily and rushes back to the car, opening the boot of the car and heaving her bag out of the boot. Jensen laughs slightly at his daughter as he grabs his bags and Danneel does the same. They take the bags inside and I take my horse for a wander around the arena allowing him to warm up his limbs.

I do a couple of laps around the arena and around the jumps when JJ rushes up to the fence. I smile and she waves to me.

"What's your horses name?" JJ asks me.

"Diesel, he's gorgeous isn't he?" I say as I walk past her and do a U-Turn to walk Diesel on the other rein.

"He is!" JJ replies happily.

I do a couple laps going the other way as JJ watches, asking questions about Diesel and Australia. Eventually Jensen comes wandering out and stands next to JJ who's now standing on the seat by the fence. Jensen and Danneel have pretty much accepted that I'm like an older sibling to JJ and she most likely will be attached to me at the hip for most of her life, at least whenever they get down to Australia. 

I smile at Jensen and squeeze my legs getting Diesel to Trot around for a bit, I do a couple circles and walk to trot and halt to trot transitions to get him listening to me.

I also do a couple Trot to Canter transitions before stopping Diesel and looking at JJ.

"You ready J? This one is cool," I say and she nods, Jensen laughs at his daughter and how happy she is.

I take a deep breathe and click Diesel on as he takes off in a canter from a standing start and we head straight for the first jump.

I lean back and let Diesel ride towards the jump, pulling him back a little bit before pushing him over with a squeeze of my legs and a click. I hear JJ gasp softly as I canter along to the next jump, popping over it with ease. We do a sharp turn and ride straight towards what looks like a larger jump, out of the corner of my eye I see JJ flinch as it looks like we almost don't get over. I push Diesel over the jump and canter along the side of the arena, my arms in the air before going down to pat Diesel's neck, proud that we did the course without knocking anything over.

All the jumps are about 140cm, so pretty high considering Diesel is about 175cm to his back. I get Diesel down into a Trot and then a walk as I approach JJ and Jensen. I walk Diesel in a circle to cool his muscles down while I talk to the two of them.

"That was awesome!" JJ exclaims.

I laugh at how excited she is about my jumping and I thank her. She looks at her dad with bright eyes and he strokes her hair.

"That was pretty incredible y/n, you might have just sparked something in JJ," Jensen says with a smile as he looks at his daughter.

"Sorry Jen, might have to get her a horse now," I say with a shrug.

"How about we start with lessons," Jensen chuckles.

I nod with a laugh and Diesel stops at Jensen and JJ for pats.

"You made that look incredibly easy there Y/N," Danneel says as she walks up to us.

"You were watching?" I ask in shock.

"Yep, from the balcony," Danneel says with a smile.

"Thanks, I make it look easy but it takes the wind out of you, it really does," I say exaggerating my breathing.

I look at Jensen who's taking a photo of JJ with Diesel and me, JJ's smile lighting up the entire sky. She's in her own little heaven.

"Say, JJ, or either of you, I've got a couple other horses that'd suit you, I could take you for a trail ride," I say looking at Jensen for permission.

"Only if I get to go with you and JJ," Jensen says.

"Deal," I say holding my head high.
