Gwen's POV

"Nee-san!" A boy around the age of 7 approaches the brunette girl.
The girl smiles widely as she welcomes the young boy with open arms.

They hugged each other like there's no tomorrow, the boy was now in tears. "Nee-san, when can we see each other again?" He sobs.

The girl caressed her younger brother's hair and replied, "in 10 years." Both of them were now slowly fading, "happy birthday, Nee-san!" The boy said before fading away.

I jolted up from my bed. My face is now a mixture of fear and confusion. My younger brother. Tears were now running down my pale cheeks, I remember you. My brother. A million questions were floating in my mind right now, why did I forget about him? What was his name? What happend before? Where is he now?

I stared blankly at my wall for good 10 minutes, I need to find him, I said to myself. But I don't even know where he is. My past is still blurry, I can barely remember anything, then he showed up in my dream.

"Happy birthday, Nee-san!" He remembers! My younger brother greeting me in my dream is all I could ask for my birthday.

I wiped the tears away and stood up to get ready. I did my usual routine; took a shower, fixed my hair, and got dressed then walked to the mess hall.

As I enter the mess hall, cadets greeted me goodmornings and saluted while I pass by and headed to the higher ups' table. I grabbed a bread and made my favorite green tea then settled down. The officials were unusually quiet today especially Hanji, she used to yell about unnecessary stuffs early in the morning.

Not a single sound can be heard from the mouths of the people in the same table as me. I decided to shrug it off and finished my meal then hurried to the training grounds to train my squad.

I can't stop thinking about my dream last night, I need to find my brother. But where do I start? I don't even know his name! "You seem gloomy today, Gwen. What's up?" Liela snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Nothing, Liela. Just tired, let's take a break." My squad nodded and they decided to clean the stables, since Levi told them to.

I went back to my room and packed a few things then went to the stables to get Arion. Since the cadets are busy training, and the squad leaders busy with paperworks, I decided to not bother them and sneak my way out of HQ and pay a visit to my home, in Wall Sina.

It took a 30 minute ride to get to my destination, I haven't visited in 2 years and nothing has changed. I turned to familiar roads, passed by familiar manors, and spotted a building I called home. I smile as I approach it, Arion neighs in excitement as we neared the house, then I placed Arion in the stable.

The vanilla scent of my home made me smile as I reminisce small parts of my childhood I can possibly remember. I brought up my fist and knocked three times.

The door opened reavealing a middle aged woman, she looks at me in shock then she smiles ear to ear.

"Gwen!" She welcomes me in her arms.

"Auntie Faye! I missed you." I muffled.

We settled down in the kitchen and talked non-stop. She excused herself to go to the bathroom and I waited patiently.

Should I ask her about my brother? I can't ask her any further about my parents, she goes mad when I ask questions about them.

After 5 minutes she finally came back, she wears a genuine smile as she approaches me, hands behind her back.

"Happy birthday, mi amor!" Her hands lay infront of me, a small box on top of it.

"Thank you, Aunt Faye!" I hugged her then sat down. She gestured for me to open the box, without hesitation, I slowly opened the cover. Revealing a familiar bracelet made of steel with 3 roses.

"You wore that when you were 7, then misplaced it while training knife combat, then your father found it and told me to give it to you, Gwenyvere Rose." She smiled.

Gwenyvere Rose.

"T-That's n-name?" I doubted. She nods her head in agreement.

I miss you Gwenyvere!

A voice rings in my head. I clutched my head for a few seconds, then I was on the brim of tears.

"I love you, Auntie!" I hugged her once again.

We were now sitting in the table eating lunch, I admired the steel bracelet wrapped around my left wrist. "You love it?" Aunt Faye asks.

I nodded, then I asked a question. "Please be honest with me, Auntie. What do you know about my brother?"

She froze in her place, she choked on her food and I helped her drink water.
"Why do you ask?" She questioned.

"I had a dream last night," I started, "he was calling me Nee-san, and he even greeted me a happy birthday!" I exclaimed.

She stood from her seat and gestured me to follow her to her room.
