Third person POV

"I see you failed to capture Eren when that was the easiest chance you got," said a man as he looks down from the top of the wall.

"Y-yes sir--"

"To tell you the truth, Zeke," spoke a blond man. "We may have changed our targets."

Zeke turned around, eyes widening. "Without my consent?"

"But Zeke let me assure you she's worth more than Eren."

"She?" Zeke asked, cocking an eyebrow.

"Yes, Gwenyvere Yeager," replied the taller guy.

"Ah, my dead sister, there's nothing I would want to do with her." Zeke said. "Are you planning to bring me her corpse?" He asked sarcastically.

But the blond guy flashed a smirk at Zeke. "Infact she's alive."

"Alive? I heard she was eaten. . .unless--"

"Yes. She now holds the Sovereign Titan's power."

Levi's POV

It has been a week since the incident happened, and a week since Gwen has been in a comatose state.

There was never a second I would leave her side.

The cadets were busy training for the upcoming expedition to reclaim Wall Maria, Hanji was busy studying Eren's and Gwen's abilities while visiting Gwen from time to time to check on her, Erwin tasked cadet Arlert and Hiruka to investigate about the Armored Titan and the possible Colossal Titan's shifter. While I was supposed to train the cadets and help Arlert with the investigation, seeing as Erwin understood the situation, he decided to let me watch over Gwen until we find out who the Armored Titan is.

"A year huh?" I mumbled sadly. "What were you even doing in the forest, you brat? And why were they after you? Did you make enemies while you were away?" I sighed, knowing not to expect for an answer.

Third person POV

Hanji entered the room, seeing Levi's head buried ontop of Gwen's knuckles.

"He must be tired," mumbled Hanji.

"I'm not asleep Four Eyes," Levi grumbled in the sheets, slowly raising his head.

"Gwen's skin is suprisingly normal already, she doesn't even look pale anymore despite all the blood loss!" Hanji noted, "This must be a part of her ability. . .but her scars' still not healing like an average shifter's regenerating abilities. That just makes it all the more difficult, but it gives me more reason to study her!"

Eld peeked in as he saw the two officers having a conversation, then he turned to his squadmates.

"How is she?" asked Gunther in concern.

"Still unconscious," Eld sighed.

"We weren't able to thank her after being saved by her from the Female Titan," Gunther scratched his nape.

"Tch," Oluo clicked his tongue, "I would've already if she wasn't so unapproachable."

"She's only distant now because she can't remember us!" Gunther sighed, "I miss the old Gwen."

"We all do Gunther," Eld reassured, "if it wasn't for her, we all wouldn't be here right now."

Gunther chuckled, "Yeah, I was close to being beheaded since I can feel the sword's tip against my neck that day, luckily she saved me."

"How do you think Heichou's coping up right now?" Oluo asked.

"He looks like he should be the one in an infirmary and not Gwen," replied Eld.

Gunther added, "He just got her back after what? 2 years? And now he's losing her again. What's worse is that she doesn't even remember anything, even him."

"Don't you think you owe her an apology, Petra?" Eld turned to an empty space. "Huh? Where's Petra?"

"She just left," replied Oluo. "Let's just visit her some other time."

The two nodded and retreated back to their bedrooms.

A few minutes later, Eren and the other cadets entered the infirmary, earning an annoyed look from Levi.

"She's not regenerating?" Eren asked worriedly.

Hanji shook her head 'no', "But her face looks like she hasn't loss any blood which is strange for someone who lost half of the blood in their body. Does that happen to you too Eren?"

"I d-don't think so. Our limbs may regenerate and wounds would just disappear in a minute or so, but I think blood is irrelevant." Eren replied unsurely.

"We can watch over her, Heichou." Sasha said, a potato in her hand like always.

"Y-y-you can get some rest and prepare for the expedition." Armin said nervously.

But Levi only shook his head. "I'll watch over her." He said stoicly.

The cadets were staying at the infirmary, chatting and listening to Hanji's stories about Gwen's time as a soldier two years ago. They were amazed, especially Eren whose eyes beamed with pure admiration.

As Levi listened to Hanji's stories, he can't help but remember everything that happened two years ago; everything started two years ago.

When we caught ourselves stealing glances during meetings.

When we used to argue endlessly.

When we used to slay titan side by side.

When I gave her that necklace.

When the first time I told her I love her. . .

I'd do anything to bring those days back.

After a few hours later, Hanji and the cadets left the room as it was already past 10, except Eren who sat opposite to the emotionless man.

He exhaled deeply, "Heichou, let's talk."
