Third person POV"No." I replied.
Gwen sighed and twisted the knob, making Levi stand from his chair and follow her outside the room.
"You said you wouldn't," said Gwen without looking at Levi.
"Tch."
An awkward silence filled the atmosphere, making Gwen feel uncomfortable with a complete stranger walking behind her.
"Hey, Levi." Gwen started.
"What?"
"You've been here longer than me when I first joined the scouts, they said, it's impossible we haven't met before."
Levi only nodded his head.
Then Gwen continued, "Do you atleast have anything to help me remember who I was 2 years ago?"
Levi stopped in his tracks, facing the floor. His bangs covering his shaking eyes.
"No," Levi replied coldly.
"Mmm."
Then Levi started walking the other direction, making Gwen raise her eyebrow in confusion.
"Where are you going?" asked Gwen.
But Levi didn't reply. And so Gwen decided to follow Levi.
They exited the building and walked for 5 minutes or so, until a view caught Gwen's eye.
The sun was rising behind a garden of roses.
Levi stood there, feeling happy inside to see Gwen's smile after everything she's been through.
"Roses. . ." Gwen muttered in amazement.
She sat down, taking in the captivating view of her favorite flowers and sun in one scene.
Levi too was amazed, but he showed no emotion. He turned around and noticed that the cadets have already returned from the search and decided to prepare for the meeting they will have.
Then he started walking away.
Gwen noticed the footsteps and stopped him.
"Where are you going?"
"Paperwork." Levi replied without facing back and continued walking back to headquarters.
Gwen's POV
After watching Levi walk away, I turned my gaze back to the view infront me.
It gave me comfort that it made me forget what I've been through.
As I plucked a rose, it's thorns scratched my finger making it bleed. But smoke was coming out of the scratch as it slowly regenerates.
I admired it closely, taking in the rosey scent.
"Thank you, Levi!"
I opened my eyes in shock at a sudden flashback and found my other hand gripping my necklace's rose pendant.
"Huh? Levi?" I mumbled in confusion. "'Thank. You. Levi?'" I repeated those words, trying to figure out if that's what happened two years ago.
It was all so vague, it was giving me a headache.
I closed my eyes again, trying to put pieces in a puzzle-
"Lieutenant?"
I sighed and turned to my back to see Hiruka.
"You really love roses huh?" said Hiruka.
"I told you already," I faced front, "stop calling me lieutenant. I can't even remember who I was two years ago and now you're calling me that without me being officially promoted again."
"You weren't even officially demoted when you 'died'" replied Hiruka. "Once you get your memory back, hopefully, everything will go back to the strongest generation of our brigade. You and Captain Levi will fight side by side again, we have Cadet Ackerman as a big addition to our strength, we have two titans on our side, and the one who holds the titan's secrets children are with us. Although you still need to heal, but I can see you're quickly recovering."
Gwen smiled genuinely, "I can now see why Erwin and Levi trusted you with almost everything."
"Heh." Hiruka scoffed playfully, "Let's eat breakfast and I'll take you somewhere that can help you with your memory."
