Chapter 23

Levi's POV

I stare at the brunette titan in shock. She's great in combat, she might even be our ally. She looks down at me, her electrifying green eyes met my steel blue ones. We stared at each other for awhile then she nods at me, I looked behind to see Mikasa maneuvering towards the blonde titan.

This titan is shorter than Eren and the blonde, maybe about 13 meters? But faster and more skilled. She lets out a roar and descends deep in the woods.

She's obviously a titan shifter. Who is she?

I decided to catch up with Cadet Ackerman. Blonde titan lays lifeless, but her hands still covering her weak spot. Then she comes back to life, and starts sprinting again. I grappled to her arms as she throws fist at me but I was quick to react. I spun around her arms while slashing it, then I rose upwards and stabbed my blades into her eyes.

I dived down and slashed her legs and ankles then she slumped against the tree, unable to stand. I repeatedly slice my blades across her body with rage, until her hand finally uncovered her nape.

Mikasa saw the oppurtunity as she aims for her neck. I noticed her skin hardening once again, and her hand raised up about to hit Cadet Ackerman. "Don't!" I yelled at her but she didn't hear. I landed on the titan's hand, "tch!" I grunted in pain as my ankle twists, then aimed to slice her jaw.

Her mouth opened revealing Eren full of saliva. I quickly grabbed Eren and landed on a tree branch.

"Hey." I called.

"Eren!" Mikasa exclaims once she saw Eren in my arms.

"He's okay. Filthy but alive. Don't lose sight of your primary objective, we're pulling back."

Mikasa's face turned into a frown, then we retreated back to Erwin and the others. As we reached halfway, loud footsteps approaches our direction.

"Stop." Then we stopped.

The brunette titan appears in our path, Mikasa and I stared confused. She placed both of her hands infront of us and uncurled them revealing my squad.

She kneels down and places the unconscious bodies of my squad gently in the ground. Then she stood up and left.

I was shocked at her sudden action. She saved my squad and protected Eren. Who is this girl? Eld, Gunther, Oluo, and Petra lays in the ground unconscious, but still breathing.

"Oi, Ackerman. We'll wait for the wagons to cross our paths, we can't carry all these bodies at once."

Then sound of hooves came from every direction, Erwin and the other cadets, that survived, emerged from the trees.

We retreated back into the walls.

A crowd starts gathering around us again. Some were bashing us, some were admiring us.

"What a waste of money!"

"Look! Majority died!"

"Mom, I wanna be like them."

We all ignored them and drove back to headquarters. Many died today, it's nothing new. But we gathered more news during today's expedition.
