2:2: Mikael's Return

I'm walking with Davina as we link arms after leaving the coffee shop, getting our Caramel Machiottos. "So, any word from Kol? Any sign or anything?" She asks and I shake my head. "None at all. So, what's new with you? Any new crushes lately?" I ask, smiling at her and she gives a small giggle. "Maybe one. He's a swimmer and sort of a werewolf." She says and I give a fake gasp. "Ooh, a werewolf? And to think you hated all of them." I say and she playfully pushes my shoulder. "No, not all of them. Austin is nice." She says and shows me a picture of them at a swim meet on her phone. "Austin? The same Austin who used to flirt with me?" I ask and she nods. "Yeah. He's bisexual and since you have Kol, he and I really hit it off. But.. then again we haven't seen him in months. What about you and Kaleb?" She asks and I playfully roll my eyes at her. "He's cute and all, the accent definitely swooning me over, but.. I don't know. I don't want it to be like I'm cheating on Kol, but maybe we really are broken up or he left me or something.." I say, letting a few tears run down my face and she side hugs me.

I arrive with Klaus and Hayley back to Eve's cabin as everything is deserted. "I told you this place is deserted." Hayley says. "No, their scent is fresh. They're hiding." Klaus says and throws over a blanket to check the tent. Nothing. "Which means somewhere nearby, we will find the remnants of your pack." He says. "And then what? It's not exactly like they're going to welcome us. If there's one thing these people hate more than vampires, it's hybrids." I say and Klaus turns around to look at us as I have my arms crossed and Hayley has her hands on her hips. "What they hate is their lack of power. Hence the willingness of their brethren to deal with that witch in exchange for rings! But, she hasn't gotten to your lot yet, so, we need to get to them first and ensure they align with us." Klaus says. "Awesome." Hayley says, sarcastically as we walk past Klaus. "All we gotta do is gotta do is find them." She says. "A task I leave to you." Klaus says. "What?" I ask. "Well, go on, Hayley! You're a hybrid now, with heightened senses unlike anything under the sun.. besides me." Klaus says and she turns around and closes her eyes, focusing before opening them, looks at us and turns the other way, walking. "This is stupid." She says and Klaus points at her. "Your people need a leader!" He exclaims and Hayley turns around to look at us. "You are their Queen! And your brother is a King!" Klaus exclaims. "I am a mess! I cry all day, I feed all night." She says and they both take a deep breath. "All I can think about is how much I miss my daughter." She says and he he walks over to her. "Do you think you're alone in that pain?" He asks. "Have you even thought about her once?" She asks. "Hayley." I say, sighing and Klaus steps forward, defensively. "I have not stopped thinking about her! When it pains me, I seek comfort in the idea of what I will do to those who would harm her." He says and pauses for a moment before gesturing his hand to the flannel shirt and she walks over to it, picking up the sleeve and smells it to catch it's scent. "Concentrate." He says and she puts it down, looking up and walks off as we follow her.

We're by the trees after seeing the remaining wolves and Oliver. "So, Jackson is MIA and Oliver seems to think he's the Alpha. They're not going to listen to me. And especially not my phoenix brother." Hayley says and looks at me. "Sorry." She says and I shake my head. "No offense taken." I say. "Your crescent marks on your shoulder did not disappear when you became a hybrid or unleash your true abilities. Go on, talk to them. Both of you." He says and we slowly walk over to them as they step back and away from us. "What the fuck do you three want?" Oliver asks, putting his hands on his hips. "Hold your tongue, or I'll tear it from your gaping mouth." Klaus says and we glare at him before looking back at Oliver. "We didn't come here to fight, Oliver." I say and we look around at the rest of the pack. "Our pack has been divided by people who want us to be their slaves. What we need right now is a leader. Someone who will reunite us and make us strong again. Someone who will fight for our pack. If you let me, I can be that person. We can help you." Hayley says. "You think we can trust you? You're not one of us! Hell, you're not even a wolf, you're a blood sucking vampire parasite and a damn birth that can do magic tricks." Oliver says and we take a step forward, standing directly in front of him. "You want to say that again and see what happens, Oliver?" I ask. "You witch boy and tough girl, you're gonna attack me? In front of all them?" Oliver asks, looking around at all the other wolves. "You'll just give them another reason to say yes to Cassie and her moonlight rings." He says and we look at Klaus and back to Oliver Yeah, they would rather follow a witch than you. Me? Hell, I'd rather die than follow you. I'm guessing your little boy toy didn't teach you about moonlight rings." Oliver says, looking at me and Klaus dashes in front of us as we step back and kicks Oliver to the ground with one foot and puts his other foot to Oliver's throat as he holds onto Klaus' foot. "At least you didn't drag this out." He says, furiously and applies pressure. "Hey, let him go, Klaus!" Hayley exclaims. "You need to learn about the art of politics, luv. You gain support by killing your detractors!" Klaus exclaims. "They may not like us very much, but these people, including Oliver, are our family. Let him go. Now." I say and Klaus looks around at the wolves. "You see?" Klaus asks, pointing at us. "There's your King and Queen siblings. Powerful, fearless, and, unlike me, merciful." Klaus says and removes his foot off of Oliver's throat, making him gasp for air and Klaus walks in front of us. "These people need to show you both more respect. How you handle them now is up to you. Mostly Hayley, luv. I think you understand." He says and I give a small nod. "Definitely. My sister is a badass." I say and we see Klaus starts to walk off. "Where are you going?" Hayley asks and Klaus looks back at us. "I'm going to find the witch. Seems I need to educate her as to what she may or may not do in my city." He says.

I'm at dinner with Kaleb after he invited me to Rousseau's and I asked him about his family. "My family? Oh, no. They're all crazy as loons." He says and I give a small laugh. "How about your family?" He asks. "Adopted. Never knew my birth parents, adopted parents died in a car accident that me and my adopted sister survived. A guy who I thought was my father wasn't, just my adopted sister's step-father and now I have a biological sister. Sorry, I know it's a lot." I say, giving a small nod. "It's ok, I like hearing you talk." He says and I give a small blush. "Wow. You are such a smooth talker." He says and I give a small laugh. "My Mom is a bit of a control freak. She's the reason I stopped practicing magic for so long." He says and I look at him, shocked as I have my arms crossed. "You're a witch?" I ask and he sits up to lean closer to me. "Warlock. Don't look so surprised, luv. Didn't just ask you out here because you're handsome." He says and I smile at him and he smiles back. "No, we're uh, kindred souls." He says. "What do you mean?" I ask, confused. "I know your story, Adam. You're practically famous. Your the phoenix who, along with your bestie, told them all to shove it." He says and I chuckle. "I'm a lot like you. Don't really believe in rules and authority. Your courage, it should be celebrated." He says and I smile and my phone rings and I look down at it, seeing it's Davina calling. "I'm so sorry.. it's Davina probably wondering how long to chill this drink she's making. She'll keep calling until I answer." I say, looking up at him as he smiles at me. "I'll make it quick." I say and get up, walking off to the bathroom. "Hey, sorry to interrupt you on your date, but how long do I chill it for? I would text but my hands are all sticky." She says and I give a small laugh. "Half an hour. It'll be that soft, slushy yet drinkable ice thickness." I say and she gives a small laugh. "I'm actually at Rousseau's but I spilled icecream all over my hands. I'll make it tonight." She says. "Ok." I say and hang up. I walk out of the bathroom to meet up with Davina and Kaleb as people are leaving. "Guys, what's happening?" I ask, confused. "Some fellow just announced they were closing for a private party." Kaleb says, annoyed about it. "We should leave now." Davina says and we both look at her and then to the man behind her after she turns around. "What's your rush, sweetheart and pretty boy?" He asks and shows his amber eyes. "Why don't you kids stay and party with us?" He asks. "Get out of our way. Now." I say as Davina and I put our hands out, making the wolf fall to his knees as he's having a migraine and the others stand up, walking towards us as Kaleb pulls us backwards. "Wow. Can you do that with the rest of them, or..?" He asks. "Not all at once." Davina says. "Not without knowing what else could happen if I do. The ceiling could fall or something." I say and the wolf stands up and shoves Davina backwards, her landing on the floor. "Hey!" I exclaim and am about to use my magic as Kaleb tries to shove him back and we both get thrown to the bar, me landing on top of him and we hear a familiar voice as our heads our bleeding. "You filthy dogs." Mikael says and I'm about to gasp as He rips two wolves hearts out at once and I see Kaleb cover my mouth and we see Mikael continue to fight them off as Davina screams, about to be bit by one of them but she fights back, getting her bracelet thrown off her and pushed to the ground as she screams again and Mikael kills the wolf by cutting his head off. "Well now.. what an interesting turn of events." Mikael says and lifts her up as she screams and I run over to them, using magic to snap Mikael's leg bone, making him drop her and we see Elijah throw him against the wall as I help her up and we see he and Elijah are fighting and Mikael has the White Oak Stake pointed at Elijah's heart and Marcel dashes over to us. "We're getting out of here." He says. "No, Marcel. I need my bracelet." Davina says as we look at her. "I can use it to control him." She says and Marcel notices the bracelet as Elijah screams as Mikael slowly pushes the dagger into his chest and Marcel dashes over to the bracelet and tosses it into the air as Davina levitates it and puts it on her and Mikael raises the Stake at her. "Stop." She commands and he obeys. "Go back, now." She says and Mikael sighs before dashing off and turns around to Marcel, shaking her head at him and we look up Kaleb. "Something to say?" Elijah asks him and Kaleb nods his head once. "Not me, mate. Not a bloody thing." He says.
