Kol and I walk downstairs with Rebekah after hear Klaus' raised voice as we're tired and hungover. "Elijah! I have compelled the city's finest pastry chef for your own personal edification, and yet, you ignore my efforts in favor of needless concerns!" Klaus exclaims. "Can we stop talking so loudly?" She asks sighing and we notice the pot of coffee. "We need that." I say and we walk over to it, pouring ourselves some coffee, letting Rebekah go first after she gives us the Evil Eye. "What's the matter? New witch body not up to last night's bender?" Klaus asks, smiling as we look at him and sit down away from him and Elijah. "So I had a few. It's not every day you lose your father at the hands of your brother." She says, raising her cup to him and we sip on ours. "Whoever said opportunity only knocks once, eh?" He says, winking at me and laughs as we roll our eyes at him. "Oh, come on! We all fled Mikael's tyranny together for centuries! I would have thought the mood this morning might be a bit more jubilant!" He exclaims. "Under normal circumstances, the annihilation of our father would be rather commendable, Niklaus. Unfortunately, we have a greater threat to contend with." Elijah says, sitting down next to him and Klaus gets up to pour himself another drink. "You know, for someone who's been invited to a celebratory breakfast, you're proving quite the buzzkill." He says. "Well, Niklaus, if anything indeed has killed the.." Elijah says and makes air-quotes with his fingers. "'Buzz,' as you say, perhaps it was because murdering Father alienated the one person who truly knows how to defeat Dahlia." He says. "If Freya wants to be part of this family, she should be willing to accept us, warts and all." Klaus says, sitting down, smiling and sips on his Screwdriver as Kol and I are cutting up our waffles. "Elijah's right. Freya loved Mikael, and you've likely ruined everything." Rebekah says, fake smiling at him. "Pity. Whatever shall I do?" Klaus asks, rolling his eyes. "Whatever you please, apparently." Kol says and Klaus slams his hand on the table, looking at him. "Do not mistake my high spirits for lack of clarity! I know full well the threat we face. And, I intend to deal with it personally." He says and we hear high heels clicking outside. "Someone's here." He says and we get up quickly, walking to the Courtyard to see Josephine LaRue with a silver scarf around her neck. "Josephine." Elijah says. "Forgive me for calling so early, Elijah, but, I've come bearing a message from your Aunt Dahlia." She says and we all look concerned at her. "She is owed a debt, and she means to be paid." She says. "She can writhe in Hell first." Klaus says, smiling. "For merely taking what your mother promised her? If you must harbor hatred, isn't it better spent on the one who traded your child away a thousand years ago? Blame Esther, if you must, but I seek only to fulfill a bargain. A bargain that, consequently, resulted in your very existence. Perhaps you should be thanking me." LaRue says and Elijah takes a step forward to her. "Dahlia." He says and she smiles at him. "My child.. I prefer 'Aunt Dahlia.'" LaRue says and Klaus walks over to her. "You dare enter my home." Klaus says and she looks at him. "I only came for what is mine." She says and her neck starts bleeding from under her scarf. "The time has come to add the child's power to my own. Though, I do not detect her here. I see you've used a spell to cloak her. No matter. Such spells will yield, as will you. Say your farewells. You have 'til nightfall tomorrow, and then the child shall be mine. Be a dear and inform the mother? No reason we can't be civilized about this." She says and Klaus smiles before angrily chopping her head off with his hand; her head going flying and her body falls to the floor.
Rebekah and I arrive to the Cemetery to see Freya on her knees with runic stones and candles around her on the altar in front of us as she is having a memorial for Mikael. "Freya, I am so sorry." I say. "About what? Certainly not about our father. I alone mourn him, as I alone loved him. And now, because of Klaus, my Father is taken from me once more." Freya says and gives a fake smile to us and we look at the stones. "We never knew the man you're mourning. He showed more tenderness to you yesterday than we have ever seen." Rebekah says and we sit down next to Freya. "All I can recall is his terrible temper, his awful cruelty. Especially to Klaus." Rebekah says and Freya looks angrily at us. "That is not an excuse." She says. "Isn't it?" I ask, shaking my head and she looks away from us. "I know Klaus can be infuriating, treacherous, even. But there is no one better to have at your side against someone like Dahlia." Rebekah says and Freya quickly stands up, turning her back to us and we stand up, walking over to her. "Klaus wants to keep Hope safe as much as you want your freedom. We need to work together." She says and Freya turns around to face us. "How can you defend him? I was abducted by Dahlia, spent years under her control, and yet he acts as if I am the enemy! I have given you all every reason to trust me, and still, Klaus rejects me. In all honesty.." She says and picks up a stone with runic carving on it. "I cannot understand why you would continue to trust him." She says and walks to the other side of us. "You, Kol, Adam and Elijah have a choice. from now on, it's either Klaus, or me." She says and turns around, walking off.
