I'm at the Compound Courtyard with Hayley as we hear Elijah yelling. "Brother! Niklaus!" He shouts as we walk over to him. "You do realize that literally everyone in here has supernatural hearing, right? Well, except my brother." Hayley says. "And where is my brother?" Elijah asks. "I'll check his calendar.. Wait, no. Not his wife, so.." Hayley says, sarcastically as she looks at her phone and back to him. "Hayley, this city is under siege by an army of beasts following my deranged mother's every command. Now, considering it was your people who just declared war on my kind, now's not the besttime for your particular brand of sass." Elijah says and I cross my arms at him. "Klaus left a while ago. If you want to find him, I can't help you." I say, shaking my head and pull my phone out of my pocket. "If only there was a magical device that people used to call people?" I ask, playing with it before putting it back in my pocket. "I don't know, I'm out of ideas. Good luck." I say, unamused and pat his shoulder and we start walking off and look back him and walk over to him again. "Oh! One more thing, Elijah, those 'beasts' that you're referring to? They may be under Esther's control, but, like you said, they're our people. So, if you hurt them, your bitch mother will be the least of your problems." Hayley says and walks off.
I'm finishing up my homework for school and hear my phone rings as it's Davina calling and I sigh in relief as she hasn't talked to me in a few days and I've been wondering if she's okay. "Hi. I'm sorry, I know I haven't called in a while." I say and hear her groan a little. "Don't be ridiculous, Davina. Are you okay?" I ask, concerned after hearing her groan. "Where are you? Do you want me to come get you?" I ask. "Um.. I'll text you the address. And maybe a list of things you can bring me? Tell Kaleb to come, too. I know he's a warlock and maybe he knows about something that could help." She says as I put some things in my bag and zip it up. "Of course. I'm leaving now." I say and hang up and call Kaleb as I walk to Klaus' garage, picking out the fastest vehicle. "Hi, I know I haven't talked with you in a while.. but my best friend, Davina, I think she's in trouble and she needs witch expert help. Maybe you could come along?" I ask, smiling hopefully as I talk into the phone. "Of course, luv. Text me the address." He says and I give a small nod. "I'll text you to my place and we can take my car." I say and hang up.
It's late afternoon as Kaleb and I are on the floor in front of Davina as I roll her pant leg up to see her swollen foot. "Yeah, I've heard about this! I've never actually seen it firsthand. It appears someone has knocked you head over heels, quite literally." He says and dips his hand into the herbal mixture and starts putting it on her foot and it stinks like rotten eggs and we all make a disgusted face. "It smells like.." I say and Kaleb interrupts me, grinning at me. "The wrong end of something quite dead? Yeah. It's just a little something I picked up from a shaman bloke in Uganda." He says, rubbing a little more on her foot and finishes up. "There we go." He says and Davina sighs and Kaleb wipes his hands hands on a damp paper towel and Davina slowly starts to stand up. "Wow. The pain is just.." She says and nearly falls but we help her back to her seat. "It's magic, alright? It's not a miracle." I say and gently lift her foot up to level it onto the other chair in front of her and we notice a spell Davina is working on. "That's quite the spell you've got going here. I mean, not to pry, but I figured you had your secrets after meet at at Rousseau's with the wolves." Kaleb says and grins at me. "Our first date." He says and I blush a little as I let him kiss my cheek. "Yeah, sorry about that." I say. "Aw, it's alright. I've never really liked dull guys, anyway." He says and I give a light chuckle. "That said, what exactly is going on here?" He asks and she glances at me and back to Kaleb. "Still not the trusting sort, are we? You can be my best friend, too." He says. "Do you trust me?" She asks, looking at both of us with seriousness. "Yes, of course." I say, taking her hands gently and we look back at the spell she's working on. "Whatever it is you're up to, well, you can tell us when you're good and ready." Kaleb says as we smile back at her.
Davina and I both wake up in the same bed that we feel asleep in to see Kaleb reaching for Davina's phone. "Your phone is chockfull of messages. Who's Cami?" He asks, handing her her phone as we sit up and I stretch a little before yawning, covering my mouth with one hand and read her texts over her shoulder. HE KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE! I really need you to answer me! Are you okay?! "Shit." I say and grab Kaleb's hand and Davina's. "Come with us now." I say and lead them out the bedroom and we sit on the floor, chanting an invisibility spell. "Keschede sede ni canun. Keschede senu ni.. Excede canun infernum da ba nunc canun. Senon canu ni.. Keschede sede ni canun. Keschede senu ni.. Excede canun infernum da ba nunc canun. Senon canu ni.." We chant until we get hit interrupted by a thick, wooden branch crashing through the window and Davina and I both hit our heads on it, going unconscious.
