*Y/N's POV*
I walk into Starbucks and the fresh aroma of coffee hits my nose. I smile before heading over to the counter. The smell of coffee always had a way of cheering me up. The cashier smiles once he makes eye contact with me and I inwardly groan.
"Good afternoon Y/N," he says in a voice way too cheery to be his normal voice.
"Hey," I pause as I read the name on his nametag. "Brad."
His smile grows and I realize he's absolutely clueless. I had made coming to Starbucks a small routine and unfortunately for me Brad was always working when I came in. I realized after the fifth day that he was definitely interested in me. I didn't want to be mean to him so I decided to keep the fact that I am not interested in guys to myself.
I suddenly realize that he was still talking about something I had no interest in. All I wanted was an iced coffee how hard was he going to make this for me?
"I'm sorry for rambling," he says. "But um I was wondering if you'd like to go out sometime soon? Maybe we could talk about other things than types of coffee."
I hear the door open and hope that it's a girl who walked in. I turn to the door and spot the most gorgeous brunette. "Could you give me a moment?" I ask. "My girlfriend just arrived."
I quickly walk over to the girl. "Hey I'm really sorry for bothering you but the cashier has been flirting with me for the past five minutes and he really doesn't get the hint that I'm not interested. Do you think you could pretend to be my girlfriend so he stops?"
She looks taken back for a second before giving me a smile. "Sure."
We walk over to the counter and she wraps an arm around my shoulders. Brads eyes widen once he sees us together and I have to hold back my laugh.
"Sorry about that," I say.
"It's all good," he says. His voice isn't as cheery and I bite my lip. "What can I get for you guys?"
"I'll have a medium vanilla iced coffee," I reply.
"Make that two," the girl says.
Brad nods and I pay. He gives me my change and my receipt and I walk away as he writes my name on two cups.
I look over at the girl and smile. "Thank you so much I really owe you one," I say.
"Well you just bought me coffee so I think we're good," she replies.
"Yeah I guess you're right," I reply.
"Can I ask you something?"
I nod and she continues,"How come he didn't ask for your name?"
I chuckle before replying. "I come here often and I think he really likes me or something I'm not sure but he memorized my name like the third day I came here."
The girls eyes widen. "Wow that's a little creepy but alright."
"Yeah I know," I shrug. "Hopefully he'll find a girl that enjoys having her name memorized after a few visits because that girl ain't me."
She chuckles at my words and I admire how pretty her smile is.
Brad waves at me and I roll my eyes. She removes her arm from my shoulders and I walk over to the counter.
He hands me the two ice coffees and I thank him. "Um you guys make a cute couple ," he says. "Sorry for flirting with you."
"It's all good, Brad. Have a nice day."
I walk back over to the brunette and hand her her cup. "An iced coffee for the amazing girl who got Brad to finally stop flirting with me," I say.
