*Y/N's P.O.V.*
Dani and I walk into the almost empty cafe together, our comfortable silence morphing into a comfortable atmosphere. We sit down across from each other in a, surprisingly soft, booth and she smiles at me.
"I'm gonna be honest, I overheard when you asked Lauren out on a date so now I'm going to help you plan it," she says.
"What is it with your family and overhearing things they're not supposed to?" I ask, barely holding back my sigh.
"It's a good thing though!" she exclaims. "Because now you won't have to figure things out on your own."
"Absolutely not," I say. She raises an eyebrow at me and a beat of silence passes before I cave in with a groan. "Fine."
The waiter comes over and we order our drinks. I don't miss the way his eyes linger on Dani as he walks away and I make a mental note to keep an eye on him when he comes back. A clap of Dani's hands both startles me and distracts me before I can give him a death glare. "So," she begins. "This is your first date with Lauren which means it has to be special."
"Tell me something I don't know," I mumble sarcastically.
All she does is roll her eyes at my comment. "What are your ideas?"
"I was thinking of taking her to the hill she took me the first time we went out," I reply. "Maybe set a picnic up or something."
"So you're basically stealing her idea?" Dani asks.
"When you say it like that it sounds like I have no creativity," I say, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Well that's because you don't."
"Hey! That's not true, you rat."
"Whatever. Any other ideas?"
The waiter comes back before I can reply and I watch as he, not so subtly, checks Dani out. We order our food and his eyes stay glued to Dani the entire time. I wait for him to try to compliment her or something but he walks away without another way.
"Is it just me or is that guy kind of weird?" Dani asks.
"He's kind of into you is what he is," I say. "He won't stop looking at you, it's lowkey creepy."
"Gross."
I laugh at the look of genuine disgust on her face. "Don't be mean, Dani."
"It's not mean," she says. "And I'm happily taken so."
"Wait, you have a boyfriend?" I ask, unable to hide my shock at her words.
"Why do you sound so surprised?" she asks back. "Is it really that unbelievable that I would be taken?"
"No, it's not that. It's just you've never mentioned anything about not being single so it kind of took me by surprise. Good for you though."
"Thank you, his name's Emmyn. I'm sure you guys would get along great."
"As long as he doesn't hurt you because I will not hesitate to beat him up."
"You and eleven other people," she mutters. "Anyway, date ideas. Go."
"Right, well... Oh! There's this other lake I know that's perfect for a date. We can set up blankets and some pillows and look at the stars together. Put up some fairy lights and set up a speaker to make it more romantic."
"I think you found your perfect date," Dani says, a proud smile on her face. "I'll call Lisa and we'll set things up for you guys just give me the address."
