EXT. FORESTER HOUSE - ABBOTT AVENUE - MIDDAY
Daisy pulls Kelly along with her at a full sprint down from the porch onto the driveway. Not far in front of them is Bowie who carries Roland's unconscious form over his shoulders.
DAISY
Guys, we- we need to leave, we have to get out of here, now, before-
Daisy goes cross-eyed, and then falls over on the driveway.
KELLY
Daisy!
As the screen fades to black, we hear sirens getting louder. Red and blue spinning flashes come into view.
OFFICER #1
EVERYBODY ON YOUR KNEES! YOU'RE ALL COMING WITH US!
CUT TO:
INT. COURTROOM - ONE MONTH LATER - AFTERNOON
An overcrowded courtroom.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: One month later
Chained to their seats, we see Roland, bearded sitting in a wheelchair, nothing below his thighs anymore. Next to him sits Kelly, dark circles under her eyes, seemingly ten years older. Next to her is Bowie, whose hair is untamed, rage in his eyes. And finally, at the end of the row, is Daisy. The dye has faded from her hair. Large white bandages cover each of her wrists. None of the color ever returned to her face.
We don't hear the words coming from the judge, only the distant rumble of his voice, and then-
BANG. The four of them jump. The judge slams his gavel again on the table. BANG.
JUDGE
Four life sentences in prison. No parole.
Roland sinks back in his wheelchair. Kelly begins to cry. Bowie's expression is unchanged. Daisy closes her eyes and leans back in her chair.
CUT TO:
INT. PRISON CELL - ONE YEAR LATER - AFTERNOON
Over fifty people lie in a dark and small prison cell, all in bright orange jumpsuits.
Roland lies staring up at the ceiling, his beard longer and grayer than ever. Kelly sits on a bench, head in her hands. Bowie stands by the cell door, looking out at the dark and empty hallway. Daisy lies alone on the floor. No one dares come near her.
ON-SCREEN TEXT: One year later
A guard walks down the hallway, his heels clicking as he adjusts his cap.
Bowie stares at him. A few other prisoners, including Daisy stand up and join Bowie by the cell door to watch.
The guard presses a newspaper up against the side of the bars.
The headline reads: RUSSIA IS DRIVEN OUT OF U.S. IN TEMPORARY CEASEFIRE!
GUARD
You've all been freed. We won.
A smile breaks out on Daisy's and Bowie's faces as the turn around to see Roland and Kelly. They appear to be in disbelief.
