When your friends said "Let's go on a road trip", it sounded like a great idea. You were all hyped up on the idea of getting together for spring break and just driving, stopping in small diners and enjoying being away from school for a week. There were only a few determined stops and lots of room for all the distractions that were bound to come up. It sounded like a great idea. Until you found out that Jeongyeon was going to be going too.

Jihyo had noticed the change in your face when she was listing the group and made it to Jeongyeon. She stopped and asked you, "What? Do you and Jeongyeon not get along?"

You shook your head. That wasn't what it was. There was nothing wrong with Jeongyeon and she was a sweet person. The problem was that you were never sure how to act around her. You were constantly caught between wanting to talk to her as much as possible because you liked being around her and, also, not wanting to make it too obvious that you liked her. You had decided not to try and go out with her because the two of you had a lot of the same friends and, should it for some reason not work, things would just get awkward for everyone.

Jihyo didn't press the matter further and started running you through a few more small details like where you were supposed to meet and when you were leaving. You were supposed to take turns driving, meeting up at Jihyo's place to leave at noon, making a quick stop at the convenience store for snacks to hold you over for at least some of the ride.

The day you all left, you ended up crammed between Jeongyeon and Tzuyu, Jihyo taking the first driving shift and Nayeon sitting up front with her, everyone else filing into the back couple of rows and trying to get at least some kind of elbow room. She smiled softly at you and you returned it, admittedly a bit awkwardly.

The car ride was filled with small talk, loud singing, and napping. There was lots of storytelling, everyone catching each other up on the last couple weeks and laughing or comforting each other, all of you just glad that it was finally time for you to get a break from your schedules. Dahyun, Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung would take turns telling bad jokes that made the rest of you cringe.

After about four hours of driving, you stopped for a bathroom break and to switch drivers. You and Jeongyeon were the first two back to the car, the other girls either still waiting for the bathroom or looking at postcards and things in the small convenience store gift shop.

The two of you stood leaning against the car door and you realized this was your first time being completely alone with her. You each looked at each other and started to same something at the same time, bumbling through a couple back and forth "no, you go ahead" before Jeongyeon finally started telling you a joke.

Even though others complained about her dad sense of humor, you thought she was funny, your sides hurting from how heard she had made you laugh.

"I love seeing you smile like that," Jeongyeon said, catching you off guard a little. You tried to stop smiling but her comment only made you smile more, your cheeks heating up as you thanked her.

There was a part of your brain that started thinking, "Now would be a great time to confess." You were by yourselves and she was smiling at you in the most perfect way that all you could wonder was what would it be like to kiss her. And you were sure she could see how much you wanted to get closer to her written all over your face. That kind of scared you, but you pushed that fear down and slightly intertwined your fingers.

You could see the surprise on Jeongyeon's face, but she didn't stop you. Not when your pinky brushed hers or when you held her hand. Not when you inched your way closer and not when your lips brushed over her. It was a small kiss and you hadn't been planning on it, but you didn't regret it either, because at least now she knew.

The other girls started making their way out of the store and you and Jeongyeon both took a step away from each other. While no one said anything, you could see the smug looks on some of their faces and you knew that they had seen the both of you.

It was decided that Jeongyeon would drive until you all reached your hotel and everyone piled back into the van, this time with you sitting right behind the driver's seat. You rode, spending a lot of the time talking with Sana, who didn't hesitate to whisper in your ear that they had taken so long in the bathroom so you could make your move. As she said it, you subconsciously looked towards the front seat. You could see Jeongyeon's reflection in the rearview mirror.

The two of you locked eyes for a split second and you could see the hint of a smile on her face as she drove.
