You don't know how it happened, but somehow you were on a date with Dahyun. It didn't really register with you until now, as she dragged you by the wrist though a carnival, this is a date. Sana and Momo had invited you to go out to the carnival with them and at the last minute canceled, leaving just you and Dahyun alone together. Did they know you liked Dahyun and set this up? You had no idea, but the carnival of all places is not where you wanted to have your first date, after all you were terrified of roller-coasters and even more terrified of being alone with Dahyun.
She dragged you to a game where you have to shoot down an impossibly small target with a cork gun to win a plushy. Before you notice what was happening she had paid the man behind the counter and took her three chances at the prize.
Missing all three shots she turned and looked at you frowning.
"Want me to try?" you said jokingly, but when her eyes lit back up to there normal excited selves, you knew you had to win her that prize.
"Please~~" she said nudging your arm, as if it wasn't already set in stone, that you would get her that prize.
You walked over to the man and gave him another five dollars and started to shoot. Your first shot was way off, around six inches to the right. On your second shot you compensated and the cork flew right past the side of the target. Sighing you loaded the gun the third time took a deep breath and shot.
"Three shots, three misses! Better luck next time, buddy." said the man behind the counter. You handed him another five and loaded the gun for the fourth time. You stared at the target for a while before pulling the trigger, and to your surprise, you hit the target successfully knocking it over.
"Alrighty then, pick any prize you want!" said the man behind the counter. You turned and gestured to Dahyun to pick a prize, she was all smiles and picked out a small purple bunny.
"You didn't have to try twice!" she said nudging you again.
"You looked like you really wanted it." you said, "So I guess it was worth it." now nudging at her.
She was skipping with joy from her new plushy, as she led you to the food court. She went to find a table and you bought the both of you some food.
"How much do I owe ya?" she said as you placed some food in front of her.
"Don't worry about it." you said, "It's my treat"
"First you won me a prize, and now you're buying me food? This almost feels like a date~" she said laughing, gently kicking your leg under the table. You tried to laugh too, hoping she wouldn't notice you blushing, and started to eat your food.
You wanted to go on a actual date, but you couldn't bring yourself to ask her. Then something clicked in your head. This was the perfect chance, you had to take it. You just had to.
"Do you, maybe, want to go on an actual date sometime" You said hesitantly, and fumbling through the words. All the confidence you had in you head flooded out as soon as the words started to leave your mouth.
Dahyun looked up from her food surprised, and after a few seconds of silence, you looked down at the ground, knowing you had just ruined the friendship you had with the girl you liked. You were a little hurt, but you looked back up at her hoping she'd say something to make you feel better, but she was still silent, with that surprised look still plastered to her face.
Finally she broke the deafening silence and said "Of course." You looked up at her, now you were the one who looked surprised. And she said, "I didn't think that you liked me, but I'd love to go on a date with you." she was smiling and now hugging the bunny you won her. It was strange to hear the usually playful Dahyun be so sincere, but at this moment it was strangely assuring.
Smiling at her you said, "But next time I pick. I really hate roller-coasters!"
She laughed and grabbed you by the wrist again, pulling you along to have some more fun. Maybe you'd be fine on a roller-coaster next to her.
