Chaeyoung and Mina were sat at their lunch table in the cafeteria talking about some stupid thing Jeongyeon did in English that made the whole class laugh. Chaeyoung was talking very animatedly so it took her longer to notice, but both girls stopped talking when Y/N walked in. Jeongyeon looked at the two girls in disbelief at how whipped they were for this person.
Chaeyoung made a move to stand up and Mina saw this and stood up with her. Both girls looked at each other and didn't say a word but both had a look of determination before speed walking over to Y/N. Chaeyoung almost ran but thought against it because she didn't want Y/N to think she was crazy.
"Hi Y/N!" Chaeyoung said as they reached the table Y/N sat in. She smiled a toothy smile while waving slightly. Y/N waved back with a smile also on their face then looked at Mina.
"Hi" Mina said a lot softer than Chaeyoung but also with a pretty big smile on her face.
"Are you still coming to my house for that history project, Chaeng?" Y/N asked suddenly looking at Chaeyoung.
Mina looked at Chaeyoung with a confused look. Mina had no idea they were project partners. She couldn't help the jealous feeling in her stomach and her irritation showed on her face. Chaeyoung could sense Mina's glare on her but continued to respond to Y/N.
"Of course! We can walk to your house together after school, if you want." Chaeyoung boldly suggested with the tiniest hint of a smirk on her face. She felt somewhat smug knowing that she got to be with Y/N after school and not Mina. But when she looked at her best friend she immediately felt guilty.
"Yeah, we can do that. See you later, Chaeng! Bye Mina!" They said and the lunch bell rang meaning they'd all have to go to their next class. Mina waved at Y/N until they were out of sight then she grabbed Chaeyoung's forearm and dragged her to their next class.
"When did you guys become project partners? And why didn't you tell me?" Mina was very annoyed now and Chaeyoung was almost afraid.
"It just slipped my mind! I'm sorry." Chaeyoung apologized because she felt guilty but she purposely didn't tell Mina because she knew she'd react like this.
Mina didn't think it was fair that Chaeyoung seemed to have a better chance with Y/N than her right now. Mina has had a crush on Y/N for far longer than Chaeyoung yet Mina has gotten nowhere. This made Mina go from angry to miserable and she just slumped into her seat.
"It's okay. I just- we should talk about this already because we both know we have a crush on Y/N but only one of us can have them. And I don't want this to ruin our friendship." Mina said with a slight pout. The thought of losing a best friend like Chaeyoung made Mina feel heartbroken.
"Yeah, you're right." Chaeyoung agreed putting her hand gently on top of Mina's to calm her down.
"Okay, so how about we just both straight up tell them we like them and see who they pick. It's just the fastest way to get this over with." Mina suggested.
"Are you sure that'll work? What if they pick neither of us?" Chaeyoung frowned at the possibility.
"Well, then we can just mope over our rejection together." Mina chuckled.
"Yeah, okay lets do it!" Chaeyoung smiled.
After school both girls decided to see Y/N and confess then. Mina didn't realize she'd be this nervous. When they both saw Y/N rounding the corner of the hallway they straightened up but started fiddling with their hands. Both were visibly nervous.
"Hey guys. Mina what are you doing here? Did you want to help us with our project?" Y/N questioned, they looked thoroughly confused. They seemed to be completely oblivious to the nervous looks on both girls' faces.
Chaeyoung and Mina both looked at each other then looked back at Y/N.
"We have a crush on you!" They both blurted out with Chaeyoung stuttering and Mina getting quieter with every word.
"What? I-I don't think I heard right." Y/N asked completely aware of what both girls said but not believing it.
"We said we both...really like you." Chaeyoung said slower than the first time and also quieter. Mina just nodded to show what Chaeyoung said was true.
"We just wanted to know who you...choose?" Mina said feeling embarrassed as the sentence progressed and blushing brightly.
Y/N just looked at both of them eyes flickering between both girls for what felt like eternity to said girls.
"I-I can't choose." Y/N finally said.
This completely threw the girls off. This was an answer they were not expecting.
"Wait, what? So are you saying you like... both of us?" Mina asked, entirely confused.
"Y-yes." Now it was Y/N's turn to be nervous.
Mina and Chaeyoung looked at each other and smiled. Then they both laughed in relief. Y/N frowned at their reactions.
"What's so funny?" They asked feeling embarrassed.
"Oh no don't be embarrassed, it's just if you said that sooner we could've avoided all the arguing me and Mina went through." Chaeyoung tried to explain.
"You guys argued over me?" Y/N asked feeling flattered.
"Yeah" Mina replied for both of them sheepishly.
"So... what do you guys wanna do?" Y/N asked not sure how this was gonna work if they liked both of the girls. Chaeyoung and Mina seemed so calm and collected about this while Y/N had no clue why they weren't arguing more.
"Well, we were thinking we could all just date." Mina said after her and Chaeyoung quietly whispered to each other for a minute. Chaeyoung nodded her head with a huge smile on her face.
"Huh?" Y/N was even more confused now.
"Since you like both of us and I mean we both kinda like eachother we figured why not all of us just date eachother. Like a- what is it called?" Chaeyoung looked to Mina for an answer.
"An open-relationship, I guess?" Mina thought.
"We don't really have to label it." Chaeyoung settled.
Y/N smiled at both of them relieved and a warm feeling filled their chest while they ran up to both girls to wrap them up in a hug.
"I think that's a great idea." They said as Chaeyoung and Mina happily wrapped their arms around Y/N and each other, smiling from ear to ear.
