Senior year had just started and already everything was different,

It had taken you four years to fully come to the realization that not all of the people who called themselves your friends actually were.

You could say that you had truly found that out during summer break when every member of your friend group had seemed to find another apparently cooler "clique" to join.

Having spent the holidays on the coast with your grandma, coming back to this new reality had hit you pretty hard, the kind of hard that makes you wanna dye your hair, change your wardrobe and finally get a grip of yourself.

You had done all of this for yourself, attracting the attention of others had never even crossed your mind,

after the first week of school it became apparent that it should have.

People stared a lot, they also whispered and giggled, you didn't like that, so you took the decision to spend your lunch break alone in one of the empty tables in the far end of the cafeteria, trying to avoid any form of social confrontation, and that's when you met your true best friend, Kang Mina.

She had approached you at your usual table one day asking to swap your pear juice for her pineapple one, apparently she refused to eat any fruit with the word apple in it because it gave her extreme heartburn.

Honestly, you liked pear juice better than pineapple but you also found it impossible to resist her cute round face and adorable dimpled smile.

Turns out Mina didn't really have any friends either, in her opinion she was just too special for normal people to understand her, only someone as smart and as bright as her could fully comprehend her greatness, and you had to admit, Mina was pretty great.

And so you cruised through the first few weeks of school, waking down the halls with Mina by your side and avoiding catcalls of random boys from the basketball team, what you did fail to notice though was a particular set of dark chocolate eyes fixed on you every time you were around.

"And that's why if Pinokio said, my nose will grow now, it would cause a paradox."

You played with the carrots on your tray as the girl in front of you munched on a piece of white bread, eyes fixed on you as she awaited for your reaction, "I don't think my brain can truly handle that shit."

Mina silently nodded her head in agreement, "You do have a pretty small brain."

Her statement was followed by a fit of giggles, you couldn't help but just frown at her attempt at making fun of you.

You were just about to throw a piece of bread at her when someone suddenly sat down on the chair next you, she had the sweetest eyes you had ever seen and a mop of short blue hair fit her delicate face perfectly.

"Hey Y/N."

She knew your name, and she was looking at you as if you were supposed to know hers, her voice was exactly like you would imagine an angel to sound like, and how was her skin so perfect.

A hard kick from underneath the table brought you back to your senses, Mina answering for you in a questioning tone, "Jeongyeon, what brings you here?"

The pretty girl next you shifted her eyes between Mina and you before breaking into a nervous laugh, "Actually I'm here to ask Y/N if she's free this Friday?"

Your best friend's eyes widened in surprise as you almost choked on a piece of carrot,

"Why?"

Taken aback by your blunt reaction Jeongyeon took a sharp breath before answering, "Well, you seem really cool and I would love to take you to the cinema this Friday to get to know you better, if you want and if you're free."

Her eyes never left yours as she spoke, her hand resting on your knee.

"She's free, of course she is."

If looks could kill, Mina would be 6 feet underground as your eyes burned through her,

"Perfect, I'll see you at the mall at seven on Friday, tell your parents I'll take you home."

She squeezed your knee lightly before standing and giving you one last friendly smile.

Mina's eyes burned with amusement,

"You better learn to speak before Friday comes around."

The dreaded night arrived faster than excepted and soon enough you found yourself in line for a random horror movie with Jeongyeon right by your side,

"Why did you dye your hair?"

You grabbed a strand between your index and thumb, getting surprised by how soft it was, a blush creeping up on the older girl's face, "I felt like I needed a change, you like it?"

Humming lightly, you smiled at her with bright eyes, nodding your head.

After bickering on what seat was the best, the blue haired girl dragged you to the back of the theatre, one hand holding the large popcorn and the other laced with your own, you could already tell she had a thing for pda.

As the movie progressed, Jeongyeon started shuffling more and more in her seat until one of her hands went to cover her eyes. In a moment of pure courage you softly placed your own hand on top of hers, her strong grip on the armrest letting up a little, intertwining your fingers, you then brought her hand over to your side, resting it on your lap.

Jeongyeon spent the rest of the movie with a satisfied smile on her face.

Once the movie was over she opted to take the longer route to your home just so you could get to talk a little more, and you did, there was never a dull moment even after arriving you spent half an hour more parked in your driveway just chatting as if you had known eachother forever, conversation was easy.

The big question buzzed around Jeongyeon's head as she walked you up to the big wooden door to your house, her palm feeling a bit sweaty against yours,

To kiss or not to kiss?

Wrapped up in her worries, she didn't even register the delicate fingers on her cheeks, she just felt a pair of soft lips on her own, with closed eyes she noted how your lips were still slightly salty from the popcorn.

Her tongue swiped your lower lip, she wanted to taste more of you, you opened your mouth to her as she pushed you against the main door, on of her hands hooking behind your thigh and lifting it slightly, bringing you even closer if possible.

Her slightly controlling nature came into play as she pushed you further against the door, her thumb pressing on your throat as her lips moved down your neck.

The wild situation got interrupted by a light turning on in the hallway, Jeongyeon pulling away right as your dad peeked his head out of the window next to you,

"Hey guys, I hope you had a great night but I think it's time to say bye bye right?"

You were sure he found the current situation hilarious, both of you with wide eyes, flushed cheeks and swollen lips, he'd make fun of you for months on end for this, but you silently obeyed him, waving goodbye to Jeongyeon as she awkwardly stumbled to her car, putting an end to your date.

As the door shut behind you, you released a loud sigh, your dad coming into view with a proud smirk on his face,

"I hate you."
