This is my challenge prompt #3 submission for clemisthatbitch's competition. I hope you enjoy.
Vampires and werewolves. Two species that could never get along, not in the world that two girls have lived in for years. Clementine, belonging to the Marsh family, was a werewolf. She hated it, as she always wanted to live a normal life but was cursed with the power that she so rightfully despised. She always feared turning into a werewolf, as her lack of control over her werewolf self would cause others to get hurt. Innocent people, men, women, children, anyone who would dare oppose her in her werewolf form would fall, and she hated it.
Then we have Violet, belonging to the Adlon family. Violet had a real people problem. She always embraced her Vampire lifestyle and always sought to make herself stronger and smarter. She didn't like to feel weak. She wanted to feel strong, capable of handling herself if anything went wrong. Like all vampires, she DESPISED sunlight, causing her to fall into a deep slumber during the day, and awaken into a blood-sucking, carnivore at night.
These two girls lived two different lifestyles, but what they would soon find out on that cold, fateful night, is that they had more in common that they had originally thought.
"Papers! Get your papers here! Daily newspapers!" A boy said as he waved a newspaper above his head. It was a bright and sunny day, and everyone was out doing their own things. Clementine had a few chores to run, but as she passed by the boy with the newspapers, she smiled and handed him a few coins.
"Thanks madam. Here's your paper." The boy said as he handed it to the girl.
"Thank you." Clem said with a smile as she walked away. She wasn't happy with her life. How she was forced to live a life that she never wanted to live. She hated putting on fake smiles for people, but she didn't want anyone asking questions about her well-being. She walked inside the grocery store and grabbed a basket to carry the goods she was gonna purchase.
"Good morning Ms. Marsh. Is there anything I can assist you with?" The owner asked. He was a sweet fella. Never tried to hurt anyone unless they tried to hurt him.
"Good morning Mr. Greene. I have a list so I can just go off of that. Thanks though." Clementine said as she began to walk around the store. She grabbed several fruits, vegetables, and a loaf of bread. She had grabbed some garlic as well as she sat it inside the basket and continued shopping. Meanwhile a hooded figure, holding a black umbrella, walked into the store.
"Good morning. Is there anything I can help you with?" Mr. Greene asked. The hooded figure slid a piece of paper over to the man. Mr. Greene looked at the paper and read it before nodding and squatting down. He pulled out a potato sack from a cabinet and sat it on the table. The mysterious figure slid over a small bag of coins and grabbed the bag.
"Thank you." The person said as they turned and left the store. They had a female's voice, one of which that sent chills down Clementine's spine. Clementine shrugged it off and finished up her shopping as she walked over to the owner.
"I think I'm all done." Clementine said as Mr. Greene examined the contents of the basket.
"That'll be 20 coins please." Mr. Green said as Clem slid over a small pouch of coins. Mr. Greene took the pouch and put it in his pocket.
"I want to ask you something. What was that all about? With that girl?" Clem asked.
"Oh her? She's a real odd one. Awful young, but acts like she has enough years worth of wisdom to put any famous scholar down. There's something that's not right about her, I just can't place my finger on it." Mr. Greene said.
