9:34 pm
we sensed our distance
stretched in its defeating spine
between our hearts
and felt the haunted gales of vacancy fill
the hollows of our eyes with wandering
there was no thief to blame who has
stolen the warmth from
our kisses
departure had been gradual
by degrees
i disarmed the tongue of its dagger
and sent you into the night
with teeth marks and pride
i had stripped you of
such cold beauty exists here
do you see it?
like the landscape
frozen,
waiting to be born
