Be Careful [Sub-Zero x Cautious! Reader]

This was requested by @LiangBing! I'm sorry if I took forever, I've been busy with a few things for school. Anyways, I kinda had the story planned out but I had no idea where I was going with it so yeah... -_- Hope you like it though!

   You and Kuai were always close, he was your master after all. You showed up at the temple nearly frozen to death. [So you guys are about the same age in the future but I'm not trying to be specific about the age. So you guys could choose your age idc.] You lost some of your memory, but you regained it with Kuai's help. You were thankful and he asked you to join his clan. You gladly accepted and you embarked on your training.
   You became one of Kuai's prized pupil's and strongest. You both grew close and became companions, you stayed by his side during fights with the Shurai Ryu. It wasn't until Raiden and everything else went downhill.
The Lin Kuei had taken a fall. People had been taken to forcefully become a new group called the Cyber Lin Kuei. You became on edge and took a lot of precautions. You didn't want Kuai or yourself to become one of them. The  leaders the Shurai Ryu and Lin Kuei were forced to join clans for support. The clan was infuriated, some others left to join the "robots" but you didn't. Kuai found that intriguing about you, he figured he could trust you as well.
All of a sudden, timelines had merged together, blah, blah, blah. Raiden becomes a good person, so do a few other people.
Next thing you know, you guys are sitting outside of the Cyber Lin Kuei base. You and Kuai were both laying on your stomachs, scanning the area. "Do you see anything?" you asked curiously.
"No," Kuai responded deeply. You heard faint footsteps behind you and looked over at Kuai who seemed oblivious, still looking through the scope.
You summoned a short sword and quickly turned around to face whoever was behind you. "Y/N," Hanzo, the leader of the Shurai Ryu, greeted you with a katana drawn.
"Master Hasashi," you put away the short sword and bowed in respect. He bowed back and faced Kuai.
"Your hearing is failing, Sub-Zero," Hanzo mocked Kuai and put away his weapon.
Kuai looked up at Hanzo from where he was sitting. "I recognized your footsteps, Hanzo," Kuai simply responds.
"Is that so? It seems your student has got the best of you, knowing that they were able to "recognize" me before you could even take action," Hanzo had a slight smirk on his face as he looked over at Kuai.
"You need to be careful, Master. If Hanzo was an enemy, a few more steps and we could've been killed," you crossed your arms.
"Yes, of course," Kuai looked pass what had happened and got up from the ground.
You guys decided to head into the base from a side entrance. You snuck around to avoid being seen. You got to the back and took the liberty of taking out the guard in the way. You came from behind and stuck a sai in the guard's back and neck. They dropped to the ground and you gave a signal to Hanzo and Kuai.
The three of you walked in and immediately you can smell iron and hear the sound of machines. You walk into a room with a display of machinery and skinned bodies. Limbs were lying on the floor, bloody and severed. You step over some limbs in disgust and notice a medallion lying on the floor next to a bloody corpse. You can see the sigil of the Lin Kuei carved into it. These people were your close friends.
   Kuai picks up the medallion with shaky hands. You can't see his face but he has a firm grip on it, indicating that he isn't fine. You look away in sadness and mourning for your fallen members.
   "We will avenge them, master," you say with clenched fists. Hanzo places a hand on Kuai's shoulder.
   The moment is broken by the sound of the robotic doors opening. You swiftly move over and hide behind containment capsules. Two figures walk in, their footsteps echo from within the room. You recognize Cyrax from a distance. To your information he was turned against his will.
   Kuai and Hanzo exchange a conversation and figure out a plan. Cyrax was to be the target. You get into position and take the lead by freezing the woman. Kuai skates over to Cyrax as Hanzo has him in a locked position. You shuffle over to help out but you heard the cracking of ice. Shit. Shards of ice hit the floor as a familiar face turns to you.
"Frost?" you say aloud. You didn't mean to but it came out your mouth anyways.
Frost had tried to attack Hanzo first but he quickly dodged, letting go of Cyrax in the process. You urged Hanzo and Kuai to get out the way.
   "Go take care of Cyrax! I got this..." you get into a fighting stance. Kuai hesitantly walks away to fight alongside Hanzo. Hanzo notices his action and looks at him sympathetically.
   "She'll be fine. She's capable of taking care of herself," Hanzo looks over at you. Kuai sighs and nods.
   "Y/N..." Frost glares.
"Hello, Frost," you tilt your head. "It's been a while."
"It has. I was hoping I wouldn't see you again," she inches closer.
"Listen, I'm sorry Kuai chose me over you, but that should not be a reason as to betray our clan," you stated.
"Sub-Zero was the one who betrayed us! He sided with the Shurai Ryu!" with that Frost sprinted towards you with spikes growing from her hands.
You charge after her and you both jump into the air. The spikes scratch your arm but you counter the attack in time. You're heart is beating just as fast as you're trying to dodge and counter Frost's attacks. She releases a thick mist into the air. You look around you to find where she had gone. Sneaking, you see a shadow fly by. Just in time, you reach behind you to grab Frost's arms and you shove her away. You find an opening and bring a knee to her stomach. She goes flying backward but skids on one hand and knee. She looks up with her brows furrowed.
You send a few spikes her way and she blocks the attack. You run after the spikes as she's blocking and jump into the air. You get into a flying kick position as she's removing her arms from her face. Your foot reaches her face and and you can feel the ricochet of the force you used in your foot. Frost goes flying backwards and onto her back. She groans and rolls onto her side.
"Envy was your downfall, Frost," you run over to Hanzo and Kuai to help with Cyrax.
Kuai runs over to you and you smile. Immediate pain is struck up your arm with seconds. You grip your arm and hiss in pain. Kuai doesn't say anything as he takes a look at your arm. You pull back and frown. "I'm fine."
"That was reckless. I will not let you do that again," Kuai glares at you.
"Your health is more important than mine, master," you voice sounds shaky. "As your pupil, I must put my life before yours."
"Y/N, you are a friend. We must look out for each other," Kuai smiles. "Promise me you will stay by my side as my companion."
You blush, smile shyly, and nod. "That doesn't mean I will let my guard down, though," you grin.
He chuckles.
"Ahem," Hanzo gestures to the group of robots standing before you two.
You and Kuai exchange glances and smiles at each other. At the same time, you both lunge forward to join the fight.
