We had been driving for a short distance in comfortable silence, only the hum of the radio in the background. I decided to try to get to know him a little better.

"How do you know the Spanish language?" I asked. He glanced over and gave me a half smile.

"My mother is Spanish" he said, giving off the vibe that he didn't want to discuss it further. He turned to look at me now and asked "why event planning?"
I smiled instantly, reliving the memories that flashed through my brain.

"My grandmother was an event planner. My parents died when I was nine, she took me in and raised me as her own. She passed away not long ago." I bit my lip to stop it from trembling. He gently squeezed my hand. "I'm really sorry, she sounds like a really amazing person".  I gave him a small half smile, knowing it was enough for him to change the subject.

"Have you ever stargazed Luna?" He asked while keeping a steady eye on the road. I thought hard and realised I hadn't seen the start properly since my mum died. She named me after her love of the moon. She was an astronomer, and it was one piece of her I would always have.

"Not since my mum passed away" I said, my voice tinged with sadness. He squeezed my hand again and pulled the car to a small dirt lane on the left hand side of the road. As we drive down further I turned to him and said "you're not bringing me out here to murder me are you? I'm sorry about the music the other week, I just thought payback was due" I laughed.

He turned to me and said "I'm not bringing you here to murder you, although the thought did cross my mind that morning. But then I remembered how sexy you looked in your grey sweats and I knew I couldn't bring myself to do it" he smirked. I could feel the blush rushing to my neck and face.

He pulled the car up on the side of the road and turned the key out of the ignition. He came around to my side, opening my door for me. Popping the boot, he reached in and pulled out a large fluffy blanket and some pillows. He handed them to me and reached in once more to pull out a picnic basket.

Closing the boot he turned to me again, with a smile on his lips.

"We are going to watch the stars together" he stated, reaching for my hand and guiding me towards a large open field with a hill at the top. We walked up the hill and found a spot just right, surrounded by trees, but none that were blocking our view.

Tanner took the blanket and pillows, laid them out and gestured for me to sit. He started to unpack the picnic basket and handed me a thermo mug full of hot chocolate, and a piece of cherry pie.

I couldn't help but laugh. He turned to me, amusement dancing in his eyes. "Well I figured it's kind of our thing now, might as well roll with it." He grinned.

We spent hours on that hill, talking, getting to know each other and watching shooting stars, me telling him all about the constellations and him absorbing every bit of information. Sometimes he would focus hard to see them as I pointed them out. Every now and again I caught him staring at me. After it started to get really windy, we decided to pack it up and head home.

When we reached the apartment, he turned and asked "how was that for our first date?".

My reply came quickly. "It was the prefect date, in fact, the only date I've ever been on". Instant heat flooded to my cheeks as he realised I said the last part out loud.

"You've never been on a date before?" He said, a quiet confusion in his voice. I shook my head and smiled up at him.

"Are you a virgin?" He asked suddenly.

I looked down towards my feet, ashamed of what he might say. He put his hands on each side of my face and tilted it up to look into his eyes. I shook my head and he hesitated before leaning in to kiss me. This kiss was soft and sweet.

"I couldn't have imagined a better first date, and couldn't have imagined it with anyone else" I said as I leaned up on my toes to kiss him again. He kissed me slowly at first, and then the kiss grew more intense, shooting desire through my body.

He pulled away from me and whispered "not tonight". I pulled back to look at him, and he placed a kiss on my forehead, before walking towards his apartment.

"Why?" The question was out of my mouth before I even realised it.

He turned to look back at me and said clearly "I'm going to make sure your first time is something you'll never forget". With that, he unlocked his apartment and stepped inside, leaving me groaning in annoyance out in the hall.
