The next few weeks flew by. Between work and Tanner, I was occupied all the time. Some nights he would come to mine and I would cook for him, other nights he would have to work back at the office and we would order takeout. It was amazing.

I learnt a lot about him. He was 27, his father was a construction engineer from Chicago, and his mother was a project manager for a technology company in Spain. His parents were divorced when he was very young, and he didn't talk to his father at all, hadn't since he was a boy. Both of his grandparents had passed away. They owned a bakery over in Spain that he still funded to keep it alive. He said that he paid someone to run and manage it, and his mother was eternally grateful for it. I tried to question him further but I could tell it was a touchy subject for him. He had an older brother he no longer spoke to and a younger half sister on his fathers side he didn't really know.

Thursday morning had rolled around and just as I was setting up for the day, Kairi knocked on my door.

"Hey girl! Mr Black wants to speak to you, line #2 she said. Picking my desk phone up and pressing 2, I said "Luna Swan speaking". A chuckle through the phone told me it was Tanner.

"I need you to come to my office please, it's important business."

"Okay, I'll be right up sir" I said, smiling and hanging up the call. I grabbed my key which allowed me access into his floor and stepped into the elevator. Travelling up, the doors opened and I stepped into his foyer. Anne announced he was expecting me and told me to head straight in. I opened the doors and walked up to his desk before pausing. He was on a call, with his business face on.

"I will be there first thing Saturday morning to personally to get this signed off. I appreciate your time and look forward to seeing you then Theo" he said before hanging the line up.

"Hi" I breathed. He stood and came around to the other side of his desk. He wrapped his hands around my face and kissed me slowly. He pulled away and smirked.

"Hello to you too Miss Swan" he said, humour dancing in his eyes. He gestured for me to sit in front of him. He strolled back around to the other side of his desk and took a seat.

"I've been speaking to Mr Roberts and he informed me that you closed the Mackenzie deal for their charity auction. I am extremely impressed and so is he." He said.

I had forgotten to mention it to him and I didn't feel right bringing it up. I didn't want him to think I was trying to brag about my work, but I was extremely proud of myself.

"As you may be aware, there is a case for the Martinez family we have been trying to close for some months. I just got off the phone to Theo, our representative in Spain, and Mr Martinez would like to meet with me personally to close this deal." He stated. I was extremely impressed. This deal had been in the works for over eight months and no one had been able to get it signed off.

"I need to take one of our planners with me to sort out the finer details and Mr Roberts has put your name forward" he said.

A grin spread across my face as I realised what was happening. "So you're asking me to go to Spain with you?" I squealed.

"Yes, I believe your experience and expert opinions would be really handy for this" he smiled back. "Plus, I'd like to show you around my home town, and introduce you to my mother" he said, some sort of emotion I'd never seen from him before.

"I'd love to. I'd love to come with you and meet your mum" I said, warmth filled my chest as I looked over to him.

"We leave tonight at 8pm. I've booked and paid for your ticket" he said, standing and walking me to his office door.

"I'm looking forward to it" I said, leaning in to kiss him quickly before heading back to my office.
