Today I've decided I would walk around the woods behind campus. It's peaceful back here. No one really goes back here. I see a few people that are making out or doing things they shouldn't be doing back here. I ignore those people as I pass them. I get glares as I walk past the people.

"What are you doing back here, Mikaelson?" Someone says as I lift my head to look at them.

"Walking around. What are you doing?" I ask as I look down to what the guy holds in between his fingers.

"Smoking a joint." He smirks and lifts it up to me. I shake my head and scrunch my nose.

"Definitely not," I say shaking my head.

"Saltzman does drug testing you do know that right?" I ask and he laughs.

"Yeah, but why not just compel someone to pee for me?" He says and I shake my head.

"I'm gonna walk away and pretend that this never happened," I say and he laughs.

"Bye bye pretty thing." The guy says and I shake my head. As I walk by his friends they look me up and down and I clench my fists. Keep it together, Hope. Then, of course, someone has to whistle.

"What is it with you boys treating women like they are some object?" I say turning around with eyes of gold." The boys stand to their full height and veins pop out around their eyes. Of course, vampires.

"Don't try to mess with us, Hopey." The boy says and I glare at him.

"What? You're gonna bite me? Did you forget? I'm a tribrid, Nolan. My bite can kill you. My magic can snap your neck. My blood can bring you back to health. So I wouldn't mess with me." I say and Nolan rolls his eyes.

"Nolan back off. Take your posey and get out of here." Someone from behind me says. I turn my head and see that it's Rafael. I get uncomfortable and my breath gets knocked out of me at the sight of him.

"She's the one who came to us," Nolan says and Rafael rolls his eyes.

"Dude come on just leave it alone. You don't want Saltzman to find out." Rafael says motioning to the burning joints in all of the boys' hands.

"Fine." Nolan says as my eyes spark once again to warn him I'm not scared of him. Then I walk the other way with Rafael following.

"Why did you do that?" I ask Rafael when we are out of seeing distance. With vampires, you are really never out of hearing distance.

"Because I was trying to help you." He says and I shake my head.

"I can handle myself," I say and he nods.

"I know but Nolan is tricky to deal with." He says and I shake my head.

"Raf I don't want anything to do with you or Landon. So if you could just go away." I say feeling my throat swell.

"Hey... Hey... I didn't know he was cheating. I didn't know he would ever cheat." He says and touches my face. I push his chest as he grunts.

"Don't fucking touch me," I say as my eyes water.

"Hope. Come on." He says stepping closer to me.

"No. No. If you didn't know he would do that then why are you still hanging out with him? Raf? I thought... I thought you actually... I thought you were actually my friend." I say as I look away from him. I know Rafael has bigger feelings for me. He always has. I've always cared about him. I always will.

"Hey. I am your friend, Hope. But Landon is my brother. He's my family. Like you said... Family is always and forever. Just because Landon and I aren't blood doesn't mean anything." Raf says and I look up at him with tears in my eyes. I know I'm being dramatic. But I'm just really needing to get this out.
