We are sitting on the carpet, leaning against the bed. Peter has his arm around me and I lean my head on his shoulder. We haven't said anything for a while now, but it's alright. The silence isn't awkward anymore, it is comfortable. I'm not certain how long we have been like this. Minutes? Hours? Who knows, but suddenly Edmund walks in.

Clearly, he hasn't spotted us on the floor because he starts removing his shoes and swordbelt before getting to his shirt. That's when we decided to intervene.

"Oi!" I cry out, immediately catching his attention.

"Don't flash us!" Peter exclaims, tossing a pillow at his brother.

"Blimey! You two are still here!" Edmund exclaims jumping in surprise at the sound of our voices as he easily catches the pillow aimed at his face.

"You sound surprised," I reply, not moving an inch from where I am.

"Well, yeah, it's my tent," Edmund replies in a slightly grumpy manner.

The thought hadn't crossed my mind. That perhaps this wasn't Peter's tent but his brother's. It does make sense though. Why else would he barge in just like that.

"I didn't realize Ed. I'm sorry, we'll get out of your hair," I tell him as I take Peter's hand and pull him along with me.

"What were you two doing on the floor?" he asks cautiously.

"Just talking. Why? What do you think we were doing?" Peter replies, holding a laugh.

"Oh, I don't even want to think about it. Just... no shenanigans in here, alright?"

"Yes, mum," I replied mockingly. Edmund sticks out his tongue at me rudely.

"Come on, love. I believe this is our cue to leave," Peter says, gently pushing me outside by the shoulders.

"Goodnight, Ed,"

I walk out into the cold night and find myself having to blink a few times in order to adjust to the darkness.

"It is quite late," I note as I looked around. I hadn't realized we spent so much time in there. "Late and chilly," I say as I wrapped my arms around myself. The moon and the stars are nowhere to be found and there is an unusual coldness to the air. Unusual for summer that is.

We start walking to where I presume is Peter's tent and a few bats come flying above us from behind, making me jump.

Peter laughs, amused at my reaction.

"It's just a few bats, love. They won't eat you,"

"I know that," I reply slightly annoyed. "But you know how they freak me out. Ugh, I can't stand those pesky creatures," I reply shivering a little. "Is it just me or is it unusually cold?"

"It is unwontedly chilly for a summer night," he replies, looking up at the sky. "I grant it's gonna rain soon. Come on," he says walking a bit faster.

I wake up to a cold, humid, rainy morning. I despise waking up early but I have to get ready for my upcoming adventure. An adventure makes it worthy. That's the only reason I'll get up early voluntarily. It is raining, but it's not a thunderstorm, so I will be able to fly with my pegasus pal up north and reach Firestream relatively quickly.

"The attack will happen three nights from today," Edmund says over breakfast. "That gives you just enough time to make it back,"

"But what if I don't make it back?" I ask them. Peter nearly chokes on his water. Hey, things can go wrong.

"No, I mean, what if Firestream is no longer living and kicking? Or if he's unwilling to come," I explain.

"Oh. I believe you can be persuasive enough," Peter says, still coughing a bit. "And if he's no longer living then we'll just have to make do without him. Although I don't need to remind you what a great help he'd be,"

"Yes, yes. I know,"

"No pressure," Edmund adds sarcastically.

I gave him a fake smile and go back to finish my breakfast. No pressure my arse.

By the time we have finished the pouring has stopped and now it is merely drizzling, so I decided to start my long journey North right away.
