IMIRA'S POV
Once we reach the camp, which is all the way up the hill and downstream, all any of us have the energy for is eating before heading off to bed.
"Where are my belongings?" I ask Peter and Edmund after finishing my meal. They had finished first, having eaten two entire servings while I only managed one in the same amount of time. They had been waiting for me to be done in complete silence. I could see Edmund was trying to remain awake with difficulty, and Peter wasn't better off. I myself could barely keep my eyes open. The day had left us completely drained.
"In your tent," Peter replied lazily as if it were the most evident of things.
"Which is...?" I said, waiting for him to elaborate on that. Has he forgotten I only just got back?
"Between mine and Ed's," he answered after a loud yawn.
"Come on, I'll show you. I'm headed out anyways," Edmund said, standing up.
"Thanks," I replied, doing the same.
Before leaving, we each proceeded to say goodnight to Peter, Edmund first and then me.
"Thanks for having my back. I knew I could count on you," Peter says as we hug.
"Always," I replied with a proud smile. He makes me feel validated. Like I have a purpose, as opposed to just sitting around spending money on pretty things. Not that I don't do that, because I do. I suppose it's just my way for justifying that selfish behaviour later on. Like I've earned all the privileges I was born into.
"Do you need help with your armour?" I ask him before leaving. Edmund was already waiting for me outside but wanted to be polite.
"Don't worry about it. I've still got a few things left to do," Peter replied.
"Such as?" I asked curiously. What could he have to do at such late hours?
"I've got to plan our next move," he replied with a sad, tired smile.
"Alright, but if you need me..."
"I'll let you know," he replies, taking a step closer and giving me a quick kiss.
I give him one last look before heading out to meet Edmund.
"About time," he says teasingly. How he manages to remain in the mood to annoy me this late at night is a mystery to me.
"I really don't have the energy for this right now Ed," I replied tiredly.
"Talking?" he asks as we stroll towards our respective tents.
"Sarcasm," I reply.
"Me? Sarcastic?" He asks faking indignation.
"Stop it," I say as I slap him in the arm, laughing.
