PETER'S POV

A piercing scream woke me up. Instinctively, I reached for my sword and jumped out of bed. The scream was followed by what could only be described as a desperate cry. A cry I instantly recognized as Imira's. Immediately a thousand scenarios rushed through my mind. Needless to say, none of them were pretty. A surprise attack at night. Prisoners escaping and going to kill her. I didn't wanna let my imagination run wild so I got my boots on as quickly as I could manage and rushed outside to find out what was going on.

It was early in the morning, from the light I assume around five or six, and unsurprisingly I wasn't the only one up. Narnians peeked their heads from their tents and soldiers reached for their weapons as an eerie silence filled the air. My brother ran out of his tent, sword in hand just as I did and we met outside her tent. We exchanged concerned looks before barging in ready to kill whoever had caused such horrible cries to escape Imira's mouth. I was expecting an enemy inside. Some evil minotaur or bloodthirsty dwarf who held her captive, instead what I found was Imira lying on the ground, covered in blood, crying on Eurybe's arms.

Alcibe was trying, and failing, to comfort her as I approached looking around for a defeated enemy, but there were just the three ladies inside.

"What happened?" I asked, heavy with concern. Imira didn't turn to look at me, she just started sobbing, covering her mouth with a red hand.

Eurybe rose, hands covered in dried blood, and approached me. "It's not what you think, your majesty," she started.

"I don't know what to think," I told her seriously. If there was no enemy inside, why was she bloody and crying? "Imira, are you alright?" I asked, ignoring Eurybe, only to be answered with more sobs. It pained me greatly seeing her like that. Even more, being ignorant about what made her suffer. "Is she alright?" I asked Eurybe a bit desperate as my brother placed a restraining hand on my shoulder.

"She's fine but... There's something you must know, your majesty," she started saying, leading me to the side.

She had a miscarriage. It was your child. Eurybe kept talking but the words stopped making sense. I think Edmund said something, but I didn't pay him any attention. Imira had been pregnant? I was going to... have a child? I had just so many questions. I walked past Eurybe and knelt down next to Imira, trying to be comforting. Alcibe gave me a sad look before giving us some space. All I could think to do was to wrap my arms around her and hold her tight as she cried. And apparently, that's what she wanted because she threw her arms around me and cried and sobbed for a very long time.

"I'm sorry," she said between breaths.

"What?" I asked, holding her at arm's length to get a better look at her face.
