THUNDER

We decided to watch the sunset before I drop her off to the Leonora Hacienda. Nouvie's favorite part of the day is to watch the sun kiss the horizon. I don't understand her fascination of watching the sun goes down, but it became a traditional for the two of us.

"Thundy?" The little girl looked up at me

"Yes, baby?"

"Am I a bad gal?"

"Why did you ask?" My brows furrowed in confusion "Of course not, pumpkin. You're not a bad girl. You're my angel."

"Then why don't I have a mommy?" The corners of her lips tugged down.

I sighed and sat down on the sand putting her in between my legs. I hugged her and sniffed her sweet baby scent. I kissed the top of her head. I never prepared for this day, I never thought of her asking this kind of question. She never asked about her mother before, so I don't understand why she's asking now. Maybe because all her playmates have mothers and she doesn't.

"Of course you have a mommy." I answered

She turned her body towards me. Her eyes filled with delight "Weally?! Whew is she?"

"Well she's not here with us. She's... God and the angels are watching her right now." I said as I don't really know how to explain it to her.

"Why is she with Papa God and the angels? Why is she not with us?" She pouted

"Because right now, that's where she belongs." I answered

"Can we ask Papa God to visit her?" She asked eagerly "I also want to play with the angels!"

"Not right now, baby. We can't visit her yet."

"But why?" She pouted again

"Because it's not the right time yet." I answered "Right now, she has to be with God."

"Ooh! Maybe because she has a mission, huh? That's why we can't visit her yet?"

"Yeah. That's right" I nodded

"But she will come back to us, wight?" She sounded hopeful and I didn't have the heart to burst her bubble "She will come back to us? She will bwaid my hair and sing me happy biwthday because you always sing me happy biwthday. She will also give me lots of kisses and cook me pancake and bacon, wight, Daddy?"

"Yes, baby. One day. One day she will come back to us. One day in the right time, you will see her." I smiled "But remember that even though Mommy isn't here, she has her eyes on you. She has her angels looking after you always."

"Wow! That's cool!" She smiled "Does that mean Mommy is bestfwiends with the angels? Does that mean she lives in heaven too?"

"Mommy lives in your heart. She wants you to know that she loves you so much. Maybe you don't understand yet, but always remember that your Mommy loves you more than her life." I kissed her forehead.

"Well I love her too mow than the sunset." She smiled and hugged me

"Do you love Daddy too more than the sunset?" I asked

"I love you Daddy mow than the sunset and the planet." She gave me a wet kisses on both of my cheeks.

Pagkatapos naming mag dinner ay hinatid ko na siya sa bahay ng mga Dela Fuente. Sa isang kamay ay hawak ko ang kamay niya habang ang isa ay buhat-buhat siya. Mahigpit ang yakap niya sa aking leeg na para bang hindi na ako babalik.
