It was the fourth night in a row that dan had had no sleep. He spent all day and all night doing 'stupid law shit that isn't actually benifitial' as he liked to call it. what little time he had free he would shower and eat. And cry.

He hated it.

Dan regretted taking a Law course more than anything. his hatred of everything seemed small compared to the hate he had towards university.

It was stressful, time consuming and boring and Dan couldn't go on with it. it was too much. it was tiring him out, he was exhausted.

He was in a constant bad mood towards everything. he would take it out on his friends (yet for some strange reason as to which Dan didn't know, they would stick with him. they wouldn't get annoyed). He was done. Done with everything. he couldn't take anymore. eyes filled with tears,he rushed into his bedroom slamming the door behind him. He didn't want Phil seeing him in such a 'pathetic' state.

Dan immediately rushed to his bed ,jumping under his duvet hiding from the world. Silent tears fell rapidly down his cheeks and onto his pillow, probably leaving a small puddle within. He let out small whimpering sobs, trying his best not to be heard.

But Phil wasn't stupid. he had noticed something was wrong with Dan before hand, he chose not to speak of it in hope that Dan would come to him. He didn't though, of course he wouldn't.

Phil paused his round of Super Mario Smash Bros to go find his best friend. As he approached his room he could hear faint sobs coming from inside, coming from the younger male. Phil could just about understand what Dan was whispering to himself.

"you're a failure, you can't even revise without fucking up"

"Everyone is disappointed in you"

"Why do you even bother?"

Phil could bare to hear anymore-he grabbed for Dans bedroom handle before knocking twice.

"Dan?im coming in."

Phil could hear Dan moving around probably trying to make himself look less exhausted.

"Oh,yeah okay sorry." he mumbled to the pale man waiting outside.

Phil entered his room, his heart breaking as he layed his eyes on Dan's tear-stained cheeks. his eyes we're still filled with stress and sadness, cheeks red from exhaustion. His hair had gone curly and was all over the place.

Phil rushed to Dan's bed sitting down beside him. no words were needed as both of their arms collided and entwined with each other. Dan began to sob once again - his tears leaking onto Phil's brightly coloured Pokémon t-shirt.

They sat for a number of minutes in silence.

"It-it's too much P-Ph-Phil. I ca-can't do it anymore" dan sighed, face hiding besides Phils neck.

"th-they expect so much of me, i-it's too hard and t-to complicted. i-I don't want to do it anymore."

Phil sighed questioning the correct respone. Dan's Happiness or what's more 'beneficial'.

It's quite obvious as to what he chose.

"Do what you think is best. if dropping out is better for you, then do so"

"B-but everyone will be so an-annoyed with me..my f-f-family will hate me."

"No Dan, no they won't. I promise."

"Nonono Phil they wi-"

"Shhh.they won't, I promise."

Phil began soothing Dan by rubbing his back in a circular pattern.

Once again, they were left in silence. Dan continued to sob a small while longer before Phil pushed him down onto his bed. He pulled up his duvet before sliding in next to Dan, his arms wrapping around his waist. a small giggle made it's way out of Dans mouth.
"No homo..." he whispered snuggling into Phil more.
"It doesn't matter-you need comfort."
"Pizza would've been cool"
"Oh shh you're enjoying this I can tell"

Dan didnt reply, but you could tell he was blushing. He let out another giggle hoping to make up for the awkwardness the two were in. a small smile appeared on Phil's face knowing he could cheer Dan up like this. He loved helping people, he loved cuddles . So there wasn't one negative thing about this for him.

"Dan I can pretty much see your cheeks blushing from here"
"Shut up..." Dan replied, playfully hitting Phil as a result.
A smile of silence appeared on both of their faces as they began to close their eyes.

As the two men started to fall asleep in the others arms two small words escaped the brunettes lips.

"Thank you."
No reply was needed, even if necessary-they both knew how each other felt. it was beautiful.
Phil had managed to cheer and help Dan out within half an hour-no one else could've helped For weeks.

The next morning Phil woke up to Dans lips pressed against his own.

"Goodmorning"

It was Phil's turn to blush now.
