Chapter 21( Time Skip)

" mama " Jake hears through the baby monitor on Erika's nightstand. Jake looks over at Erika and notices that she is still sleeping so he gently gets out of bed and slip his shorts on over his boxers and walks to Caleb's nursery.

" buddy its 5:00 in the morning why are you up" Jake says as he walks over to Caleb's crib where the 12 month old is standing and reaching for his daddy.

" buddy you're one today and it's Christmas " Jake said as Caleb lays his head on Jake's shoulder.

"Should we go lay in bed with mama and try to go back to sleep" Jake said as he picked up Caleb's pacifier and his blanket and walked back to his and Erika's room where his 7 month pregnant wife laid still asleep. Jake climbed into bed and then laid Caleb in between him and Erika and gave him his pacifier and blanket and then covered them both back up.

"goodnight birthday boy" Jake said as he laid on his side and Caleb snuggled into his side and wrapped his tiny arm around Jake's big arm. Jake snapped a picture before he closed his eyes and went back to sleep.

Three Hours Later

"Mama, mama, mama, mama" Caleb says as he crawls onto Erika's chest and sits on her and starts to rub her cheek.

" buddy how did you get here" Erika says as Caleb points to Jake

" dada" he says as Erika smiles at Caleb

" guess who's one today" Erika said as she slides Caleb off of her chest and starts to tickle him which inevitably wakes Jake up.

" dada " Caleb laughs as Jake picks him up and throws him across his shoulder as he gets out of bed and spins him around.

" I'll save you from mama bud" Jake says as he lays Caleb back on the bed dramatically.

" ok you two lets go change stinkbutts diaper and then go open some Christmas presents." Erika said as she climbed out of bed and put a sweatshirt on over her pajamas. Jake picked Caleb back up and they walked to his nursery where he changed Caleb's diaper and then they all three went downstairs.

"isn't it great being the boss and getting to be at home on Christmas" Erika said as Jake nodded

" yep and I wasn't rushing home or dreading going away again" Jake said as he pecked Erika's lips

" merry Christmas baby" Jake said as he put Caleb on the ground and he crawled towards the mounds of presents in front of the Christmas tree.

" and merry Christmas to you baby girl" Jake said as he kissed Erika's belly.

" buddy did you find the presents" Jake said as they both looked over to see Caleb ripping into the gifts or attempting to rip into the gifts. They both walked over to Caleb and Erika sat on the couch ad Jake sat in the floor with Caleb.

" happy Birthday big boy" Pam said as she walked into the living room

" say thank you nana" Jake said as Caleb went back to tearing into presents. Jake and Erika's moms and Dan are all staying at their house for Christmas this year and flying back to West Virginia on the 29th.

"merry Christmas you two" Pam says as she sits next to Erika as Erika rubs her belly.

" its not his first Christmas but at the same time it is" Erika said as she smiled at Jake and Caleb playing with the paper in the floor.

" that little girl is gonna be wrapped around Jake's finger" Pam said as Erika nodded

" that she is" Erika said as Caleb crawled over to Erika and gave her a small box
