Chapter 27

After we got done with the photoshoots yesterday I called the kids doctor and dentist and rescheduled their appointments. Caleb's dentist appointment was today surprisingly.

"good morning baby boy," I said quietly as I walked into Calebs room and turned his lamp on it was 9:30 and he was still asleep because him and Jake stayed up last night watching cars until 11. We thought that he would go to sleep during the movie but he didn't. I rubbed his back slowly as he slept on his stomach and pulled his blanket off of him. I undid his sleep sack and picked him up as he looked around before laying his head on my shoulder and rubbing his head into my shoulder.

"it's time to wake up bubba," I said as he whined and yawned at the same time. He has a dentist appointment at 11:30.

" you wanna go see dada and Oak," I asked him as he wrapped his arms around my neck and nodded. I pulled his binky out and then I gave him his dog as I covered him up in my arms. Jake was downstairs with Oakley in the gym. We had a swing down there so we could both work out and her and Caleb be down there with us. I walked out of his room and walked to the kitchen and grabbed his bottle and then turned around and walked to the gym. I walked in and Jake was laying on the bench and Oakley was asleep.

"say, morning daddy," I said as Jake racked his weights and looked at us as we walked in.

" good morning big boy you slept a long time," Jake said as Caleb leaned towards Jake, and Jake took him from me. I handed Caleb his bottle and then he hugged Jake then Jake sat him on the floor.

"what time is his appointment," Jake asked me as I picked up my phone

11:30" I told Jake as he nodded

"ok are you almost done," I asked Jake as he nodded

"Yeah I'm gonna finish doing this then I'll be done," Jake said as we looked over at Caleb

" No sir put it down," Jake told Caleb as Caleb lifted up to jump ropes.

"I'm gonna take him upstairs and feed him breakfast, you got her," I asked Jake and he nodded.

"come on Caleb lets go eat," I told him as he dropped his bottle

"eat eat," he asked as I nodded

"yeah baby, let's go eat," I said as he ran to the door and waited on me, he loved to eat, anything and everything. I picked up his bottle then opened the door and Caleb walked out and to the kitchen. I grabbed the eggs and quickly scrambled them and then sat Caleb in his chair. By the time the eggs got done it was 10:00. I put them on his high chair as well as some Cheerios and then I made myself a cup of coffee. After Caleb slowly ate his breakfast Jake walked upstairs with Oakley asleep still in his arms.

"be ready in an hour," Erika told Jake as he nodded

" yes ma'am," Jake said as Erika chuckled at him and took Oakley out of his arms and held her against her chest.

"get him ready please, and please brush his teeth," Erika asked Jake as he pecked her lips and nodded.I walked upstairs and into Oakley's room as I walked to her closet. I picked out an onesie and then a headband that matched then walked over to her changing table. I laid her down and put her pacifier in her mouth as she stirred a little. I quickly changed her then picked her back up and walked to Caleb's room where Jake was putting Caleb's shoes on him. Jake finished then he grabbed a couple of diapers and a change of clothes and then we walked down to the mudroom where I strapped Oakley into her car seat and Jake put Caleb's coat on him. I grabbed the diaper bag and then put Caleb's stuff in it then we walked to the car.

"give me her baby," Jake said as I picked up the car seat

"I've got it, Jake," I told him but he looked at me sideways so I handed the car seat over to him. I grabbed the diaper bag and Caleb and buckled him into the car while Jake put Oakley in. Once we were buckled in it was 11:00 so we were on time for once in our lives.
