[note: this chapter is all on yiren's side of the story, but it's very important for the future chapters :D]

"students, we have an announcement." the teacher said, in front of the class. yiren immediately sat up on her seat, listening to what the teacher was saying. she was an excellent student, and she'd always listen to what the teachers said.

"our student council secretary, heo yunjin, has signed out for the position. we're recruiting new people for the position, and we'll just pick one for the new secretary. would anyone want to try?"

yiren wanted to try. she raised her hand and looked around. she was the only one that raised her hand.

"wang yiren? you want to try?"

"yes, miss."

"all right, just go to the office later at 3:00. other students that want to sign up for the position are gonna be there, too."

"yes, miss." yiren replied. after that, the lesson started and they continued on with their day.

"hello, noona." eunsang said.

"hi?" yiren replied, not knowing who eunsang is.

"are you signing up for student council secretary?" he asked.

"yeah." she said. "are you part of the student council?"

"oh, right. i'm lee eunsang, the vice president of the student council." he said, slightly bowing.

oh, so he's the guy mingyu was with the other day. yiren thought. he's pretty cute.

"how old are you?" yiren asked. "sorry for the random question, but you must be younger than me since you called me 'noona'."

"i'm seventeen." eunsang replied.

"oh, so you're a sophomore?" yiren asked.

"yeah."

"cool."

eunsang smiled, and yiren felt her stomach twist. what the heck, yiren? she said to herself. she shook the feeling off and continued waiting for the meeting to start.

she felt someone sit beside her. she looked to her right and saw a girl.

"hi." yiren said, smiling.

"hello." the girl replied.

"are you signing up for secretary, too?" yiren asked.

"yeah! i'm hwang sua, by the way." the girl said with a smile. they shook their hands and bowed to each other.

"oh, i'm-"

"-wang yiren. yeah, everybody in this school basically knows you." sua said, cutting yiren off. yiren chuckled at her response.

"considering that it's the third week of school, it's weird that i've never seen you around." yiren said.

"trust me, yiren, you haven't seen a lot more special people." sua said.

"like who?"

"have you met kwon haeyoung?" sua asked.
