Chapter 12

Jai's POV

I didn't know what to do, after she told us the story, she just broke down crying. I wanted to say something that would make her feel better, but there was nothing to say, nothing would make a person feel better after experiencing something like that.

Maybe going out tonight would make her forget for a while.

"Hey Maria, maybe we could all go out tonight, we could go to some club, I'm not 21 yet but my friends dad owns a bar and he could get us in. It might help get your mind of things for a bit." I said.

She smiled. Gosh, what I wouldn't do for that smile, just to see her eyes sparkle and pearly white teeth show, her perfect plump lips curling into that beautiful grin.

"I appreciate that Jai, but I'm nearly broke, my money is for necessities only for now, until I get a job." she says with a look in her eyes, I couldn't really tell what it was, it was either one of those I'm-fine-but-thanks-for-trying looks, or one of those I-really-like-you-why-can't-you-see-that looks. I was hoping for the second one. But who am I kidding, she just met me, why would she like me?

Maria's POV

Jai just asked me if I wanted to go out. And I did, I really, really, REALLY did. I didn't have enough money, and that's what I told him, I didn't want him paying for me either, so I gave him the "I'm fine" look so he wouldn't get any ideas.

"It's fine we'll pay for you!" Beau butts in. Great, now they'll probably pressure me until I say yes, I decided to skip the whole pressuring thing and just agree. "Sure, but if it gets too expensive, I'm paying." I say, I didn't care about me being almost broke anymore, I needed a night out and I was getting one.

I didn't have that many fancy clothes, but Luke said that the bar isn't someplace you need to dress up for, so I wore my grey lace crop and blue skinny jeans, also I wore a black leather jacket, some beige pumps and my yellow bag. I put my hair up into a messy bun. When I looked into the body mirror, I was impressed.

I didn't do a lot of makeup, just a bit of eyeliner and mascara, and some pink gloss, I wanted to keep it simple.

When I came down the stairs, all if the boys immediately started staring at me, and knowing me, I was probably blushing like crazy.

"Um...we should... we should get going." Beau stutters. Luke chuckles at Beaus awkwardness and I'm still blushing as we walk out the door.

We all got into the BMW and drove off, it was only a ten minute drive, but the whole drive I was fidgety, did I forget to mention I have never had alcohol before, even though I'm already 21.

"Hey are you okay?" Jai asks.

"Yea I'm fine, but the truth is, I've never been to a bar before, I've never even had a drink before." I say nervously.

Jai just looks at me, and Luke giggles cutely.

"It's okay Maria, you don't have to drink if you don't want to, but if you do, take it easy for your first time, or your hangover will be as if somebody just cut your head open with a chainsaw."

"Fuck Luke! Stop fucking scaring her!" Beau says playfully from the front seat.

The car stops and we arrived at a bar called 'The Midnight Express". It was a small yet cozy place.

It was loud and people were obviously drunk, but I liked it.

Little did I know that this was going to turn out to be a very eventful night, and not in a good way.
