Having settled into my room, I headed outside to the hallway looking around for Davien's room. He told me to meet him after dinner and I still didn't have the chance to except now.
Passing by some doors, I tried smelling his scent to lead me to his room. Although I couldn't trace what he truly is, I have his earthly rain scent engraved in my memory. I couldn't help but smile at how idiotic I've become, drooling over a guy's scent.
I stopped in my tracks sensing a very strong whiff of his scent by a door. I took a chance and knocked twice, soon being met with his dark ocean eyes.
"Took you some time to find me." Winking, he opened the door wider for me gesturing to get in.
His room seemed rather organized for a guy. His bed was neatly made, and beside the bed sat two small bedside tables with a small vertical lamp above each. The walls painted a warm eggshell white color. A huge window let in the light above the headboard and beautiful maroon curtains matching the bed sheets obscured them. On the right side of the room lay bookshelves drilled into the wall, with books organized according to size, with a door I guessed to be the closet. And on the left were two small black sofas with a coffee table in between and another door that was slightly ajar made me know that it led to a bathroom.
"Nice room you got there." I casually said as I went to sit on one of the sofas.
"Thank you." He chuckled as he sat across me on the other sofa.
"So what did you want to talk about?" I avoided eye contact as I looked around the room a bit more.
"Well a lot of things actually, but that would take a lot of time wouldn't it?" I looked him in the eye to see a soft look on his face and another emotion I couldn't place. I took in a sharp audible breath as I gave him the best smile I could muster. "I seem to make you nervous princess, don't I?" He leaned in further that without the coffee table in between us we would be inches apart.
I opened my mouth to speak and deny that fact as I always do, but he cut me off saying "Don't deny it Evelyne, say it."
"I-I, yes." I reluctantly responded as I looked down at my hands.
"I know Evelyne, you make me nervous as well." I shot my head up in surprise "sometimes." He winked finishing off his sentence.
"Y-you know what we are don't you?" I asked fidgeting with my nails.
"Soul mates? Yes, I am a bit opened up about vampire history but didn't believe it until I met you." He gave me a genuine smile and just stared at me for a while.
"But you're not a vampire. What are you?" I asked the question that has been roaming in my mind ever since I smelled his scent in the woods.
He stared outside the window for a couple of minutes before speaking "I don't know. I'm neither human, nor wizard, nor vampire. I'm just Davien Woods the unknown magical kid." He let out a chuckle accompanied by a sigh.
"You're not an angel nor a devil, does that mean you're a werewolf?" I whispered my theory loud enough for him to hear.
"I don't know, I've never shifted." he shrugged resting his head on the neck of the sofa.
The way he said it seemed like he has thought this through a lot. I wouldn't blame him, not knowing what are you or where do you belong sucked.
"Though, how did you end up here then?" I silently inquired.
He did take a couple of seconds to answer again, seemingly to collect his memory. He took a long breath before he began.
"I was found a baby here in the forests, or so that's what I've been told, and that's why they made my surname Woods, how ironic. I of course don't remember any of that, but well stories come and go." He let out a huge sigh slumping his shoulders down.
