Two weeks have passed since Davien and I last talked to the council. I do admit the occurrence of two thing:

One- the people originally opposed to the council and their actions have been helpful so far and cooperative.

Two- we got the "loyal" ones who still stand by their leaders and their beliefs starting riots and causing chaos in the already chaotic land.

"You can't control how they feel, they'll come around when they know the truth." Davien would repeat those words for me as we sit preparing our plan and despair shows clearly on my face due to the lack of unity.

But I can't stop stressing on the fact that we have to start training them, all of them before the threats start approaching us real quick.

They may see us as outsiders but we know the tactics of our enemy more than they do.

Kara walks in on us with a tray holding three steaming mugs knowing that we have been up all night working things out.

We have learnt how to use those things they call "phones" and the social media they contain. How they put the world into a small box I have no idea.

Serena has taught me how to use those things and "be active" as she puts it to "reach more people". All I have seen is people sharing completely useless and normal stuff up there. What a world this is.

"Can you both please take a break and have a sip of coffee? Seeing you like this has brought me mental fatigue." Kara gives each of us a cup and sits on the couch in front of us.

"Yeah you're right, but time is money and we don't have much of it." Davien thins his lips giving up to the truth and raises his mug to his lips.

"Well I got you something to take your mind off things for a little while." She takes out from the side of the couch a huge white book that seems rather old.

"What is that?" Davien speaks out the question roaming inside my head. Destined? Maybe.

"It's a photo album, they are old but good enough. I hereby offer you a free ticket to memory lane." With a huge grin she hands it over to us as I stare at it with bewilderment.

My hands are shaky and my mind is fuzzy while I open it up and wander through its pages.

I see babies, two of them, laying by each other's side entangled between their covers.

The pictures morph into older sweet girls, with their long blonde hair and colored eyes.

Tears pool inside my eyes threatening to escape into my fingers that caress the pictures with love and care.

They were the long lost memories I shared with my family, with Kara, with my friends. It was my old life, my original life.

"I didn't know these existed." I look up to Kara with a wide smile and lines of tears on my face.

"Well it has been almost a hundred years since they were taken."

"Who's that?" A threatening Davien points at a boy's face sitting between me and Kara in our backyard, his arms stretched around us.

"Oh that, that's Lorenzo. He was our best friend, we used to be so close." Nostalgia hit me right where it hurts seeing the little boy's smile and a chuckle erupts from my chest unnoticed.

Davien however took it too seriously and turns to frown at me.

"How close? What did you do? Where is he?"

"Hold your horses, we were kids." I laugh at his unnecessary jealousy and turn to Kara hoping she would share the humor, but her face seems to be in sorrow and agony.
